I'm a new user. It appears that there are (at least) two ways to connect my Android phone to my Outlook.com account:

1. Use the Android app
2. Add the Outlook.com account to my phone as a "corporate account" ... which I believe is just another name for setting it up as an exchange account (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/outlook/android-no-app)

Am I correct that the second would also work? Would the second sync email, contacts, calendar, and archive folders just as the first does?

Are there any benefits to the first over the second?

Are there any benefits to the second over the first? In particular, would the second approach have the same limitation of not downloading any email messages older than 30 days as the app has?
