My new computer is running Win 8.1 and I've downloaded Windows Live Mail as my client mail system. Set up and sending/receiving emails on 4 accounts is fine except for receiving attachments. Although the attachment received is a .doc file type created
in MS Word, Windows Live Mail says it is a prohibited file type and that it has deactivated it. Outlook Express on my old computer - I'm still in swap-over mode! - opened the innocuous attachment with no trouble. I don't want to change things to allow all
file types to be downloaded but I do want ones created from MS Office and the like! I see a Forum Moderator provided a private answer to this sort of question on May 2. Could I be party to the answer? Many thanks.
