When I setup my Surface 2 - an outstanding product btw), I accidently used my old Microsoft account.
(I have 2 accounts because accounts are bound to a country and you can never change the country.
But I moved out, I needed an account for the new country I lived in, so I opened a second account, which became my primary account)
Then I redeemed the 2 years 200GB free code on skydrive.com/surface
Unfortunately the site did not ask for which account I wanted to redeem the 200GB so it was put on my old account.
A few hours later while having trouble to set up Skype, I finally see that I used my old account while setting up the Surface 2.
Therefore I add my true primary account to the surface 2 as administrator, resetup everything and delete the old account from the Surface 2.
Then I discover that the 200GB subscription went to the old account.
I contacted Microsoft to change/transfer the free 2 year subscription to the new account - and I can think of many ways to make it happen - but Microsoft refused, told me to contact the department store where I bought the Surface 2, even when I told them that
the code was in the Surface box and that it was independent of where a Surface is bought.
In short I find such lack of flexibility on the part of Microsoft extremely unfortunate, to say the least. I thought the cloud was all about agility and convenience.
So not being able to transfer the subscription, is there a technical workaround that would enable me somewhow to link both Skydrive accounts, so that I could use the space without having to constantly sign out/sign in?
