My ISP has told me that my settings in my email account for my email address are perfect and that I should contact Microsoft. I can send email to the ISP's server, but I can receive email from that incoming (for me) server. (The outgoing mail server
is different from the incoming mail server.) I have no problem receiving email for my gmail account.
Additional info: I just restarted my computer and when I first brought up Windows Live Mail it accessed my ISP's server and downloaded my mail. I then took it down and tried to access it again and it again gave me the error message that it was waiting for
the server to respond and asked if I wanted to wait for 60 seconds to try again or to Stop.
