I already had another account (say *** Email address is removed for privacy ***).
When I found out about account aliases, I thought, well, that's what I actually wanted, one account with many names.
So I decided to delete account *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. In the process, I was warned that the name of the account would be unavailable for 270 days before anyone could use it again.
I completed the process and marked my calendar 270 days later so I could add the alias to account *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (I also immediately tried to add the alias, just to make sure, and as expected, I wasn't able/allowed).
So, 270 days passed, and I tried for a few days to add the alias to my *** Email address is removed for privacy *** account, but as expected, I couldn't.
The message I got was "That email address is already taken. Please try another.".
To make sure no one else got the A name, I tried to send an e-mail to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, and received an error from *** Email address is removed for privacy ***:
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
Delivery to the following recipients failed.
I started looking on the internet for problems related, and found some people saying that the time required for an account name to be made available after deletion had been updated to 365 days.
So, once again, I waited, until a few days ago. And yet I can't add the alias. I still get the same errors as above.
What should I do?
