Since upgrading to Windows 10 (3 days ago), Windows Live Mail will not open, except after a reboot. Once desktop is rebooted Live Mail will open and function properly, until the app is closed.  Once closed app will not open again until a reboot or doing a "Repair all Windows Essentials programs" in Programs and Features. Once repair completed, Live Mail will open and function properly until closed again.

My WLM Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3563.0918) on W10 Home Version 1511 build 10586.218 Worked OK for years and until March 2016 on W10.

Then it started losing the contents of folders, putting received emails into Sent, and now shuts down seconds after opening. An offer to Debug gets no result when selected, except the obligatory shutdown. WLM will run for less than a minute.

Tried deleting a troublesome Hotmail account, but no result. Re-installing WLM on W10 is not it seems an option.

So I am looking for advice about migrating all folders and accounts to a new email client, one that will synchronise with my Android devices. Outlook perhaps.

WLM export offers two types, Exchange Server and bad old WLM. Is comprehensive migration possible?

I have windows Live Mail 2011 and am using Windows 10. I received the below error message. I have tried the posts suggesting to repair Windows Essentials but every time I do I get a message saying "no internet connection" check connection and try again. But, I do have the internet connection all the time. This issue only occurs on the desktop computer, my laptop using the same email account is still working fine.

Thanks for your help. Tracy

I have been using Windows Live Mail for years.  All of a sudden, some months back, it stopped being able to receive emails from Comcast email servers.  It sent emails without a problem.  And my two other Live Mail accounts continue to work flawlessly.  But I can't receive from the Comcast server.  Actually, every 5-10 days, it somehow decides to download all those messages.

I purchased a new laptop, going from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  Same problem.  I've been on for hours with Comcast support and Lenovo support.  No luck.  Comcast escalated it, but I'm told it's a problem with Microsoft's software.  It seems that it's a problem with the interface between Windows Live Mail and the Comcast server.  I'm on Live Mail 2012.

How can I change the default font size in the reading pane Windows Live Mail in Windows 10?
