I created an alias with my account however it does't show up.  It say "You have no Outlook aliases", but if I try to create it again...it tells me that that This email address is already an alias on your account.
WHY WERE MY OLD EMAILS DELETED WITHOUT MY CONSENSE AND WITHOUT A WARNING? I NEED THAT INFORMATION. I HAVE AN ACTIVE ACCOUNT SINCE 1995 AND MY EMAILS PRIOR TO 2009 WERE DELETED, ALL OF THEM. THIS IS FRUSTRATING, A COMPLETE VIOLATION. I WILL BE SAVING MY INFO IN ORDER TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT SOON, THIS PROVIDER IS NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS LATELY.  IN THE MEANTIME, I EXPECT AN ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM AND HOW TO RECUP MY LOST INFORMATION.
I have a Windows 8.1 desktop and a Windows Phone 8 smartphone. I use Windows Live Photo Gallery for downloading files from my phone's camera role. Now that I've got 8.1 on my desktop and a new broadband line that gives fast download and upload speeds I want to go over to using Skydrive for a majority of my data from 2014, just like MS are encouraging us to do. The problem I foresee is not being able to stop video clips I take with my Windows 8 phone from uploading to Skydrive after I download them from my smartphone. The download feature of Live Photo Gallery and for that matter the WIndows 8.1 Windows Phone app downloads both photos and videos to my pictures folders rather than separately to my Pictures resp, Video folders. So if my Pictures folder is on Skydrive, which is the intention, the synch program will start uploading my often very large video clips to Skydrive too. I don't want this to happen so was wondering if anyone has any idea as to what I can do to stop files over a certain size to be uploaded to Skydrive?

When I set up a pop account in Apple Mail ,it removed some of of my emails but not all.

I now get the following message every time i log into my hotmail account.

Your messages are in your POP folder!

Some other program is set to download and delete your messages from Outlook. Just in case this was an accident, we've put them in a special POP folder. Not an accident? Change settings

When i click "change settings", I get a message that there is a problem with hotmail right now.

I should note that in trying to fix the problem I moved my emails back to my inbox and deleted the POP folder . I also removed the hotmail account from the Apple Mail program .

I havew been locked out of my email account with hotmail I have created a new account with outlook but need to access my old account. how can i get my old account linked to my new one, or how can i get into my old account.
Below you can read the answer of the two dopes who work on this site. One, Marvelous Merc, informs me that there is a limit to how many emails I can send out -- BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO SEND A SINGLE EMAIL from this account which was blocked since inception. The 2nd numbnuts sends me back to the help desk which I have been trying to get help from since the beginning --  to no avail at all. Meanwhile, all somebody has to do is unblock my account which was blocked for absolutely no good reason, as there was no unusual activity on the account -- I just started it!  UNREAL. I am returning my windows phone that started all this, I mean, if these idiots make it so difficult to open an outlook email account, imagine how they will screw up phone support.
My Account has been Blocked for three weeks -- GREAT JOB HOTMAIL!
I recently bought a windows phone, and I set up a hotmail account for this phone shortly after, maybe 3 weeks ago. For some strange reason, Outlook temporarily blocked my account, citing unusual activity. I don;t see how this is possible, since I just started the account and never used it. They sent me to verify my account with a phone number. Unfortunately, the geniuses who set up this phone verification do not consider Sierra Leone, where I am, to be a country, and so I cannot verify my account, which 3 weeks later is still blocked. I have sent numerous emails to the help desk,  and recently I got this answer from MERC, who is an advanced specialist. This dunderhead tells me that there is a limit to how many emails I can send at the start of an account (see below). However, I have not been able to send a SINGLE email from this account, since they blocked it almost immediately.  Today, I get another message from Hotmail advising me to verify my account -- which of course I have done many times and can;t because the experts at Hotmail do not recognize that Sierra Leone, in West Africa, is a country.

All they have to do is unblock my account, which I have asked them to do many times. But that would be too simple for the advanced support team that includes Marvelous Merc. Have never had anything similar happen to gmail accounts. Now i regret buying a windows phone -- as who knows how lousy that support system is?

Hi,

I am Merc, I'm a Senior Support Analyst for Microsoft. I am part of the Outlook.com Support Escalations Team.
We apologize that your country is not listed on the country list to verify your account through your mobile phone. You can send a feedback regarding this on this page.
Regarding the sending limit, you will have to continue using the account but please note that since your account is new, there is a daily limit to your sending capabilities.
Continue using the account to increase your reputation and this limit will increase.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Thanks!
Merc

I have been trying to find this solution to this problem through all logical means, but it doesn't seem to be evident. Please can someone help me with this! Thanks BJ
Before migrating my old email address to outlook.com I had an old @live.com address (connected to hotmail) which I currently need to gain access to. I have some other accounts that used that email address and in order to use the password reset feature on those accounts I need to gain access to the email address to access the password reset links. Is there a way to still access my old account? The companies of the accounts I need to access can't verify the email, so they won't be able to change it over the phone.
