Outlook won't let me receive in my new email account in my MacBook Air - keeps giving the "invalid user name or password" message. Yet the new account

- lets me send;

- works on my iMac;

- it works in webmail;

- has exactly the same configuration as my other email accounts on both computers - IMAP on the MBA, POP on the iMac;

- the same incoming/outgoing servers and ports (only the incoming ports are different on the iMac and MBA); on both computers for all three accounts I have to override the outgoing default port and type in a new one, which is the same on both computers;

- The SSL, Authentication and Security are the same for all three accounts on the MBA.

- I'm typing in the user name and password correctly.

And again, I can send from the new account on the MBA but I can't receive. The new account keeps the amber dot in the list of my three accounts. I've double- and triple-checked (more than that, actually) everything.

There is nothing I can see that's wrong, but there must be something. Any ideas out there?

When I start Outlook the below message appears and Outlook does not synchronize the inbox. Any solution to fix this bug?

Many thanks,

Florian

after updating Outlook 2011  for mac all previous messages disappeared.I opened completely empty Outlook 2011 for mac, without a single account.messages  were accepted with POP, so they are only on the computer. On the computer they really are, but getting into them is impossible, since lost identity.  How to recover email? thank you!

My provider changed my password for my Outlook for Mac 2016, how do I change that  password to one I want?

when i send emails from my iPhone or from my iPad, the sent messages do not show on my main mac desktop sent folder. Is there a way to have them all centralized to show on my mac desktop?

The message is: "To use the database, you must rebuild it using the Database Utility.

The Office database stores your personal information, such as the Scrapbook and Outlook messages and contacts. To continue, click Rebuild. After the rebuilding process is complete, close the Database Utility. Then the database will be available for your Office application".

It asks me to rebuild several times a day.  When I rebuild, I can access Outlook  but then it crashes again. How can I rebuild once and for all without this happening repeatedly?

Hi,

Using Outlook for Mac 2011 (most recent update v14.6.5).  I recently deleted a few gmail business accounts (deleted in Google Admin) that I was using in Outlook.  I then went to Outlook to delete the same accounts, and Outlook just freezes and becomes unresponsive.  I've tried everything, including repairing and rebuilding the Identity but the problem persists.  Now, since I can't delete the extra account, every time outlook sends/receives, I receive an error pop up message (2 of them) and it's a deal breaker if I can't fix it.  Please help!

Thanks!

I need to export my Outlook contacts from my Office for Mac 2011 using the category filter.  In other words, export only  contacts that are categorized as Business

Yesterday morning I have three accounts in my MSOffice Outlook - I came home in the evening and they have all gone!  I open up the icon to see nothing there!

This is on a MacBook Air running OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.5

What has happened - desperate to know that I have not lost everything!
