How can I delete Outlook (icon/program) which is always running in background.  Can't install latest update for Office 2011 14.6.6 with any program open.  MS:Mac 2011
My email on outlook receives my messages to two separate accounts just fine but when I go to send any messages from both of these accounts they just sit in my outbox and I get an error 17895 . The settings that I use are exactly the same as on my old windows outlook which works just fine . HELP !

On my iMac, my Gmail server-based imap mail folders are black.

On my MacBook Pro, my Gmail server-based imap mail folders are grey.

Both using Outlook 2011 version 14.6.6

Why?

Using Outlook 2011 on MacOffice on an iMac, the side bar indicator shows three unread emails in the inbox and thirteen unread emails in the junk box but in the actual inbox and junk box there are no unread emails.  How can I re-set the indicators to zero ?

I would much appreciate some guidance on this.

Whilst attempting to solve a technical problem with my email account my telco has inadvertently deleted my email files and calendar.  I was able to recover my contacts from web mail but the email files and calendar are lost. I'm using an iMac with Office 2011 and back up my hard disc using Time Machine. Am I able to retrieve my emails and calendar from  "Office Utilities" in my Time Machine back ups?

Hello All,

Environment: Exchange 2007 SP3, Office for Mac 2011, 5 iMac (OSX 10.10 x2,  OSX 10.9 x3) do not join domain

When setting up outlook,

for OSX 10.10, we can connect to a mailbox automatically by input email address & password.

for OSX 10.9, after input the email address & password, the autodiscover service seems not working, so i need to enter the server info (EWS details copy by successful setting from OSX 10.10), but it still fail to connect, the indicator icon still in orange & no error popup.

We also contact helpdesk for help but they just suggest to upgrade the OSX, we are no idea, if any help here will be really appreciated. Thanks so much!

I had to uninstall Office 2011 due to it not being able to search.  During the uninstall Microsoft instructed to drag the Microsoft User Data folder onto the desktop so that Outlook information is not deleted.  What do i do with this folder during the install?

After installing the most recent service pack and update 14.6.6 for Outlook 2011, the default email account is no longer working.

I have just confused a bunch of clients by sending from the incorrect email accounts.

I have reset the default account several times and restarted outlook - but to no avail.

I have physically deleted the zombie default account, and then reset the default account to the correct one, but for some reason, another account is then used.

All the accounts are IMAP based.

I was forced to rebuild the database after an SSL issue forced Outlook to stop receiving email. This initially wiped all of my accounts and I lost all of my contacts - I was then required to rebuild the database again, but using an older ID (given that the most recent didn't have the contacts or email accounts, for some bizarre reason).

I question the point of being able to set the default account if it's of no consequence. I assume that this is a bug introduced in the latest update.

I think that maybe it's time to sunset MS Outlook - any other options for an email client managing multiple email accounts (apart from Apple Mail) very much appreciated - this past week has been a total nightmare.
