when I set up my Microsoft account  on my new laptop  with w8 I used my old  btyhaoo mail address and Microsoft asked for my password which I had forgot.[ I must have set up a  Microsoft account on my old lap would that have been my primary account) so I changed my btyahoo address and I use that to sign in to my microsoft account, which is a local( aliases) account. I want to change to a Microsoft mail address to sign in to my account. would that make it my primary account again .
