Please use the instructions on this page to apply Comcast's recommended settings: To reconfigure your Windows Live Mail client to use SSL instead of port 25

Having done so, click Work offline and remove any unsent messages from the outbox (below the account folders in the folder pane). Then close down WLMail and wait a few minutes before re-launching. Compose a new test message and send it to yourself. Post any new error message in your reply.

I am having this same problem but have tried your suggestions of changing port 25 and get this message:

The connection to the server has failed.

Subject 'test'
Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 465
Secure(SSL): Yes
Socket Error: 10060

I am using Windows Live Mail 2012 and Windows 7.  Several months ago I was notified and tried to change ports but it didn't work and I set things back to defaults, including port 25.  It has worked fine until yesterday when my outgoing stopped working.  I receive e-mail and it only works if I use port 110 not secure.  It does not work using 995 secure.

Any suggestions are appreciated.  Thanks.
