I just set up an Outlook.com account with the intent of switching from gmail. I'd like to duplicate my current system: Outlook 2010 downloads messages from an Earthlink server, which are then deleted from the server. Outlook 2010 contacts and calendar sync separately to my gmail account via a third party application. Any messages not downloaded from the Earthlink server into Outlook 2010 (in other words, while Outlook 2010 is not active on my desktop) is downloaded to gmail. My iPhone 4s then fetches (gmail recently eliminated push feature) the messages from gmail, but leave them on the Earthlink server until Outlook 2010 is launched.

During the Outlook.com set up, I added an Earthlink POP account that I use with Outlook 2010.  However, when messages are downloaded from the Earthlink server to Outlook.com, it shows up in a folder I was asked to create when configuring Earthlink POP settings. I need the messages to be directed to the Inbox so I can get them to my iPhone. Obviously, I did something wrong in the set up and cannot figure out how to fix it. I read the threads regarding deleting POP messages from the server, etc, but that does not appear to be my issue. Advice would be appreciated.
