have “lost” the “mail” app in windows 8 startup screen? here yesterday, gone today??? also unable to keep websites list in “favorites”? make a list, turn off tablet, turn on tablet, list gone!?!?

using acer windows 8 tablet w/atom processor. mail app just gone? not even listed in apps list. did not "accidently" uninstall.

favorites will not keep sites, as soon as I turn off and turn back on list is gone. 

anyone having same problem with solution????
