Hotmail does not get all e-mail on my desktop. It does on my iPad but many appear o the iPad which do not appear on my desktop How can I fex this????

I have both a desktop and an iPad.

I was (am) a user of hotmail my account is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

I receivelots of e-mails on my iPad which do not appear on my desktop.

What have I done wrong (they are not trash e-mails nor junk e-mail they atr just e-mails from contacts which I do get on the iPad but never appear on my desktop.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
