I have an email in my Windows Live Mail Inbox which I have read and can not delete. Any suggestions as to how to get rid of it?

I have an email in my Windows Live Mail Inbox which I have read and can not delete. Any suggestions as to how to get rid of it? It keeps telling me "an unknown error has occurred"
