I have just logged into my @msn.com email account after some time, to find all my emails have disappeared. I have received a welcome email from hotmail. why?

I have just logged into my @msn.com email account after some time, to find all my emails have disappeared. 
I have received a welcome email from hotmail. why?

I have read online that my account may of been made inactive - If so, how do I get my content back?
