I've had a live/passport account for a long time, which I opened under a non-Hotmail email address, let's call it *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. I never used Hotmail, but did use passport, and later Skydrive and Skype. Now that I have a Win8 machine, I'm using that Microsoft account more, and putting more files on Skydrive.
I signed up for outlook.com when it first appeared, just to see what it was about. I didn't really use it, but now would like to try it out a little more extensively. However, here's my problem. It seems that there is a Hotmail email address that was created for me when I signed up for outlook.com. It is of the form: *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (not the real address, but similar). I wouldn't mind using outlook.com to send and receive email for *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, except that when I send email, it gets flagged as from *** Email address is removed for privacy *** on behalf of *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. I could accept that if *** Email address is removed for privacy *** didn't look so awful; if maybe it looked more like *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
So my question is this: is there a way get a new Hotmail/live/outlook.com email address that doesn't look so awful, and then tie it to my *** Email address is removed for privacy *** Microsoft account? Aliases don't help, because I'm trying to send mail as *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. Do I just sign up for a completely new Microsoft account, and then migrate my Skydrive and Skype accounts? I'd rather not have to do that if possible, but would like to know.
TIA
