I received the text below, personalised to my hotmail account and with a Windows Live logo that I thought looked very badly reproduced.  It doesn't seem genuine to me but I want to be sure:

This e-mail has been sent to you by Hotmail to inform you that we were unable to verify your e-mail account details.
This might be due to either of the following reasons:

1. A recent change in your personal information. (eg: address, phone)
2. Submitting incorrect information during register process.
