I'm using WLM2011 on Windows 7 on a desktop PC. Up until Tuesday WLM worked fine (for years it's never had any problems) but then it suddenly stopped sending emails, I've tried sending emails to various people but it won't send.

I can receive emails.

I haven't changed any of the settings and I've checked that all the settings are correct. The outgoing port is correct (587) too.

The error message is 0x800CCC0B.

I've scanned my computer for any threats and I've tried repairing WLM but nothing seems to work.

I've even been in touch with my ISP just in case there is a problem at their end and when I send/receive from their website everything is OK.

POP3

mail.talktalk.net

smtp.talktalk.net

Remember password

Log on using clear text authentication

My server requires authentication

Outgoing mail 587

SSL

Incoming mail 995

SSL

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the facts: WLM was working just fine through every Window version and even in Win 10. Then, after Windows update I could not sent or reply to an email. Received everything just fine in all gmail & AT&T accounts. “Error occurred opening this file.”

This solution was posted here in the community.
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/livemail-program/windows-live-mail-a-problem-occurred-while-trying/21387c73-4d32-4765-9c67-6078e4798d7f

Before doing it I created a restore point. I followed the instructions and it completed (see scrfeenshot).  But DISASTER! It only made maters worse, now I can not access WLM at all! Now I get the error message:

"Windows Live Mail could not be started. The application was unable to open the Windows Live Mail message store. Your Windows Live mailbox data is currently being used by another program, such as a virus scanner. Close the program or wait for it to complete its operation, then open Windows Live Mail again. (0x00C0155)"

I did a restore which completed but that did not resolve the disaster created by the “solution”!  WHAT a mess. The “Solution” only made the first problem into a complete disaster and “restore” did not fix that.

The dark defrag screen-shot is the finished process that caused the disaster created by the "solutions". Restore  to the restore point did not solve that.

Then did the process advised here:

That only made matters worse and now I can't even launch the program and a restore accomplished nothing.

So you see? Problem. Solution. Disaster that appears irreversible via a restore point.  HELP!

Hi,

I have used video editor in Windows 10 earlier but the second time I am having trouble coordinating the audio file with picture. I am able to add the desired duration to the picture and add custom audio synced to it but the duration of audio file is not adjustable. It appears as if the audio file is not payable in video setting though it is playable individually. I would appreciate if someone can help in managing this issue. Thanks in advance.

A customer ran SFC / scannow and doesn't know whether or not there was a message about corruption - where can you confirm this?

Using Windows Live Mail, it can take up to 10 minutes for a new pop up window when trying to reply to an email or forward an email. Why is this happening?

After a February 2021 Win 10 upgrade I am able to receive Windows Live emails in all 4 of my email addresses. "An error occurred in opinion this file."

I have been receiving and sending email in Window Live Mail with Windows 10 for some months. But after a recent February 2021 Win 10 upgrade I can not reply or send.

I have been using Win 10 just fine through 2020 and it is only a recent update in February 2021 that caused the problem.  I can receive email but not send or forward: "an error has prevented this file from opening". This happened only after Win 10 MS TECH support "fixed" a prior problem. Most suggested solutions are responses to older questions not exactly the same.
