On Friday, 7/19/13 my Office Outlook 2003 (Win 7 Home Premium) stopped being able to contact outlook.com.
The error I get -
Task 'xxxxxxxx - Receiving' reported error (0x80042108) : 'Outlook is unable to connect to your incoming (POP3) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
I am configured to use pop3.live.com port 995 using SSL and smtp.live.com port 587 using SSL. I was able to send and receive email from Office Outlook 2003 prior to Friday, although it was frequently flakey. I have not changed any email settings that I am aware
of. At first I thought I had perhaps changed a firewall setting or something. But then I noticed that my Android 4.1.2 phone email also is unable to reach the servers. It was configured similarly as my Outlook 2003.
I have contacted my ISP and they claim that they are doing nothing that would block access to the servers. Any ideas from the community? Thanks.
