I would like to be able to have a macro/button in Outlook that allows me to store the email in my Windows Explorer folders (not the Outlook folders) on my computer locally. To be really cool it would give me the option of conversion of the email to a PDF for storage. I save 1000's of emails ever year and I have a complex Windows Explorer folder set up that enalbles me to choose from 100's of different folders and subfolders and to creat a new one at any time - hey its Windows Explorer. Windows Explorer is a fantastic tool, easy to use, easy to search, easy to change and you can store all types of files from anywhere... Outlook will not do that and Outlook administrators are always trying to get you to minimize your storage. Moreover accessing files / emails in Windows Explorer is just easier and if you store them offline in the cloud and they are PDF's you can look at them anywhere without signing in to email.
Currently I use Adobe to convert the email to a pdf and save it in the appropriate Windows Explorer file and it works just fine, but I would like to do it faster and I would also like the option to just put a copy of the email in the Windows Explorer folder. I can right click and copy an email and paste it in Windows Explorer and it is accessable easily and I can even change the name of the email and all I have to do to read it is double click the email file in Windows Explorer..
I think there is lots of functionality that could be added for users if Microsoft would integrate Windows Explorer and Outlook better and the creation of PDF copies of emails.
Anyone know of a 3rd party product that does this already?
Thanks
