.xsec files are what file type a file is from an encoding/ recording program call Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 but it won't let me put the files into Movie Maker, instead it says 'Movie Maker doesn't support the selected file type'. I would use Expression but it takes a long time and it is a lot more t to do. Any feedback/suggestions will be appreciated.

I have Movie Maker on my computer. It seems basic. I want to put a movie or small project on YouTube. Maybe some family trip videos also. I'm not real sophisticated with movie making but can do a fairly good job if I take my time. I certainly want to do more than just trim the ends of clips.  I want to be able to edit and insert different video clips and possibly some photos. Cut and paste a lot. Narrative, sound etc. Look a bit more polished.

My wife recently got me Sony Movie Studio. I assume it is more "professional" and complicated.  I have not opened the box yet because I'm not sure if I need the Sony Studio.

I assume the Sony is probably better, but I don't want a big learning curve that might take a long time to get comfortable with. I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback on this. Thanks, Bill

I recently updated my office 2011 using a microsoft delivered update. Word, Excel and PowerPoint appear to be working OK but outlook has completely reset. All of my email folders have disappeared and it didn't access my email accounts. I reset the email accounts and it spent an hour downloading thousands of emails. This happened on the 20th January and I posted onto the microsoft feedback site. One other person has had a similar failure but no contact from microsoft yet. I'm getting worried now as i have lots of personal and medical information in the folders and I don't know whether I will ever se them again.

Please help.

Thanks for any support offered.

I am using the older version of windows movie maker, the one with the scrolling timeline interface in the bottom.

The version is Movie Maker Version 6.0.6002.18005

When I updated to windows 10, I found the process had uninstalled the program to replace it with the newer one. I just installed it again, and it worked fine, just as it worked before.

A more recent update did the same thing again, my favorite version of movie maker uninstalled and the newer one I don't like replacing it again.

Again, I simply re-installed the version I like.... but now it no longer works at all. Old projects I open with it will not play, showing all of the imported videos as unavailable. "Browse for missing file" doesn't help, it just changes the red X of the files in the timeline for little movie file icons, and it still doesn't play. No feedback on what is wrong, nothing.

Trying to import any files as imported media to make a video with gives no response at all. There are no error messages, nothing. I have tried this with files of all types, even image files and MP3 files, none of it works. Again, there are no error messages whatsoever, it just doesn't react to dragging assets into the window. The "Import media" button doesn't work either. It opens up a dialog form to pick files as normal, but when I press OK with my files selected, the Import Media Items dialog window closes and nothing is added to my project.

Any idea what might be wrong? I really don't want to use the newer versions, I really hate their UI.

I have Windows 8.1 and Windows Live mail 2012 and did the upgrade to KB3093594, but now for the last several days Live Mail can't send or receive ANY emails from Any of my accounts; all I get are my feeds.

Looking on Google, there are many, many people with all kinds of different problems with Live Mail that they are trying to resolve themselves, with little success.

What is going on?!! Why did Microsoft issue this to SOLVE a problem when all it does is cause all kinds of new ones?

I refuse to use the Mail App that comes in 8.1 since it can't do squat when it comes to me keeping a copy of my emails on my home computer and forces me to log in to Microsoft which I am not going to do!

Some have found that Live Mail still works without the update, but needs a reinstall of Live Mail 2012 to make it work. I don't want to have to re-set up 5 different email accounts and the hundreds and hundreds of feeds that I have set, all over again, just because Microsoft can't get it right and make this work like it's suppose to.

Any suggestions??

Just discovered there is a giant generic "OUTBOX" for all Live Mail accounts hidden at the bottom of the folders views and just about impossible to scroll down to, or get to come up unless you maximize the Main Windows Live Mail -- so I found it and removed the email rejected by my own ISP and started an investigation with that ISP as to why it was rejected as there is nothing macroscopically obvious, that is, no typos, transposition of letters, tec. (see like that for etc.

That got me to thinking why not have one giant generic "INBOX" for all live mail accounts as well - that way only one inbox and outbox would make it seem as if my email was organized efficiently?

Can  you copy each individual account "Inbox" into one "OUTBOX" so that all email appears in one place?

Seems like a good idea to me - feedback, negative feedback, previous experience, etc.

Thanks,

For this high school project I have to create a movie using 'Windows Movie Maker'. I have Windows 10 and research told me to download 'Windows Essentials 2012' from the Microsoft website which includes Movie Maker.

I have downloaded it and it said something like:

'Windows Essentials 2012 has been installed. Click close to use Windows Essentials 2012'.

I clicked close and nothing happened. I tried searching for Essentials and Movie Maker in the 'Search the web and Windows' bar, but nothing apart from the option to reinstall.

I need to get this installed and any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I check my e-mails everyday on Windows Live but I am getting overleoaded with Spam & unread feeds.

I don't know why but I now received multiple e-mails from companies ,e.g  NHS etc.

How do I stop this rubbish as my trash bin daily goes up t 150+ e-mails to be deleted.

From what it appears, it is not possible for people to natively approve or reject messages to moderated groups using Outlook 2011 or Outlook 2016.  Only using OWA which is too inconvenient.

I already submitted feedback to Microsoft using the form in Outlook 2016.

Does anyone know of an upcoming fix for this or if there's some way to import the form from Outlook 2013?

I uploaded several videos successfully into Movie Maker and proceeded to edit them without difficulty for the next hour or so.  I then saved the project as a project as it was not complete.  Shortly thereafter, I reopened the project to find all the videos I had uploaded had no sound nor video.  All the pictures and text still appear and the videos take up space in the right hand editing display, however, when playing through it on the left hand preview screen, the screen is completely black and their is no audio.

Since then, I have attempted to replicate this error without success, even uploading the same videos to a new project.  I am at a loss as to how I may reclaim my Movie Maker project or how the error even occurred.  Any and all feedback would be helpful.
