Emails sent in client Windows Live Mail 2012, whilst going into sent folder,  are not being received by recipients unless there is an attachment.

I have checked that sending emails, whether with or without attachments,  direct in service provider's email page does work so this would point to a Live Mail being source of problem.

I have not changed any settings in Live Mail. I did do some maintenance work such as deleting newsfeeds quite recently.

I would appreciate some help to solve this problem.

I have set windows live mail to empty deleted emails on exit.  I have a couple of IMAP accounts and a POP3 account.  Although my Hotmail/Outlook account set up on windows live mail when I logged into it from the WLM interface so I am not sure if it is POP3 or IMAP but it behaves like IMAP.   The feature to delete emails on exit from the deleted folders  via options - mail - advance is not working with IMAP nor Hotmail/Outlook but seems okay with POP3. To delete from my IMAP accounts and Hotmail/Outlook I have to sign into them and then delete directly from the server.  Should I not be able to delete them with Windows live mail via options - mail - advance - empty deleted items folder on exit as Windows live mail signs into these accounts.  Forgive me if I am wrong but I am not an advance computer user.

I have also stopped receiving the " No new messages received" when I check to download them if there aren't any is this because I have stopped feeds?

I am unable to send or receive email with my Windows Live client.  In Windows Live Mail 2011 (and 2012), my mail and folders do not appear.  The pane is blank except for a message - "Windows Live Mail is synchronizing this account.  Check back in a few minutes to read your messages."  I select Send and Receive, Update All and I get the subject error message.  (My calendar and contacts appear ok.  I don't use Feeds or Newsgroups.)

I have searched the Community related to this issue and have not found anything that fixes the problem.  I did all the suggestions in the most comprehensive article at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/livemail-email/how-can-i-solve-synchronization-send-and-receive/dee0c2d9-998c-472e-aac9-0374c082854b?tm=1349387143840 , but still no fix.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Live several times.  When the problem began, I was using Live Mail 2011.  The install upgraded to Live Mail 2012.

I don't know how to verify under network suggestions whether the mail server I am trying to access is available or not.  This problem has been going on for 3 days now.

I have removed, added, and reconfigured the hotmail accounts several times.  I have created a new hotmail account and have the same problem with it.  Both work fine on my Android phone, my Kindle, and in Outlook.com.  I added my gmail account to Live Mail 2012 and it works fine.

I have gone through all the machine config suggestions in the above referenced article.  Another article suggested checking some registry items.  The only problem was not finding initpki.dll.  I don't know what to do to fix that.

I went through all the software config suggestions to no avail.

There was a suggestion to access the account via POP3, but I don't know how to do that one.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi,

I would appreciate any feedback or assistance with the following. I had made a few WMM movies that were working perfectly for 2-3 weeks, all of a sudden when I play them now, they glitch, or lag or freeze when playing them on any playback program ( Windows Media Player, Itunes, Quicktime etc.).

I tried re-publishing the movie and again, it just glitches, lags or freezes when playing the movies. I thought maybe it was a computer issue, although when I play other videos or movies - no issues.

Thanks for any feedback on this!

Hi. I have about 500 contacts in my windows contacts folder under c:/users/helen/contacts or something like that (!) but I have over 1000 in the contacts section of my Windows Live Mail program. I thought they were supposed to sync with each other or one feed from the other so that they are the same and so when you delete or add to one you delete or add to the other automatically? I thought that the windows contacts folder on my C drive fed the contacts folder in my WLM. Can anyone tell me why the two contacts databases for want of a better word aren't the same as each other/one and the same? And how I can get them to match other than manually adding or deleting contacts which would only be a short term solution.

Reloaded windows 7 on my computer recently. This reformatted the drive and deleted Photo gallery.  When I reloaded gallery, and tried to open image files, I was confronted with an error message announcing I did not have adequet permission to open any of these files.

Is there any utility out there that can reset, in bulk, permissions, sharing, and ownership.  It can be done manually, but with several thousand image files,  manual reset is not an option.   Thanks for any positive feedback, that will resolve this issue.

Hello,

I have used Outlook and Entourage for many, many years. For the past few years, every few months, Outlook will re-download all email from several of my POP accounts. This is very time consuming to fix because I have many filters and need to manually find the duplicates. Recently, Outlook would repeatedly re-download all email for some of my POP accounts. This resulted in 3, 4 or even 5 duplicates per message. To make matters worse, Outlook does not allow POP email to removed from the server after X number of days. Entourage had that feature and I don't understand why Outlook doesn't have the feature. Certainly I can choose to immediately remove POP email from the server which avoids re-downloading duplicate emails, but recently this strategy caused me to lose emails. My hard disk crashed and my most recent backup was 4 days old. All POP email that was downloaded from the server during those four days was permanently lost! This would not have happened with Entourage because it allowed me to remove email from the server after a certain number of days. I usually picked 30 days, I think. Of course, if I read the POP account from two devices, like a Mac and an iPhone, then I need to keep it on the server.

I understand that IMAP is better. I have 15+ email accounts. Five of them are IMAP and they work great. I use POP for high volume list subscriptions or for accounts I never read from my iPhone.

I'm currently using Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011, version 14.4.1, released April 8, 2014. In the release notes the second fix listed is:

• Improves the ability to recover from certain network errors when you connect by using POP in Outlook for Mac
This update fixes an issue that causes Outlook for Mac to re-download the contents of the inbox for POP accounts for certain connection errors.

Options for using POP email accounts with Outlook:

1. Always keep the email on the server. This needs to be done if I read the email from two devices or if I don't want to risk permanently losing the emails. With this approach, I occasionally remove all the email from the server and this can be very time consuming.

2. Always remove the email on the server. I take this approach for most of my POP accounts. My hard disk is a solid state drive (SDD) and it's crashed twice in the past 2 years. This leads to permanently lose of emails.

3. Somehow get Microsoft to add the "Remove messages after X number of days" feature for POP accounts. I like this option the best, but I don't know how to have a feature request considered. I'll plan to "Send Feedback" from the Help menu on Outlook. I truly wish that I could file an issue report.

If anyone has suggestions or comments, let me know. Thanks!

I am experiencing a curious mulishness with my Outlook for Mac and would appreciate any useful feedback on what to do about it. I have a MacBook Pro laptop computer, running OS X Mavericks, v. 10.9.2. I bought the Office for Mac 2011 suite and have Outlook for Mac, v. 14.3.9, installed. Since the OS X update to Mavericks in 2013, using Apple's Mail app with Gmail got to be too much trouble, and I started using Outlook for Mac as my e-mail client earlier this year. It does a pretty good job for me, in general, but there's one thing I've noticed lately that bugs me.

I am not sure whether this contact's birthday is a datum that I transferred to Outlook from Apple's Contacts app with a .vcf card or whether I input the date manually in Outlook, but for some reason, I ended up with the wrong day of the right month and year, and every time I try to change it and to save the change, Outlook for Mac won't accept the new date but instead reverts to the incorrect one. I've tried deleting the birthday entirely, and it will let me do so, but then when I try to put in the correct date later, it does the same thing all over again. I keep telling it that the date I want to store is the 10th, but it persists in showing the 1st. I have experienced the same kind of thing with other contacts' birthdays. What's up with that?

When I signed into WLM is started restore of all mail.  That's when I noticed all my existing mail, folders, and feeds had been wiped out.  What happened?

When I try to delete, it comes up with 'an unknown error has occurred'.  It pops up everytime I open Windows Live Mail, for months I've been trying to get rid of it.
