some sent mail don’t show up in the sent mail folder

Hi
Some of the mail I sent dont' show up in the sent mail folder. Not in Outlook2013 and not in outlook.com.
The mails are gone!!!!!!!!!
This behavier comes and goes.
I use an EAS account in outlook2013. Win8
Is there an storage limit for the folders? I have over 23 000 mails in different folders.
