Sync issue with SkyDrive causing the CPU to overheat

Skydrive on Mac OS X  syncs continously without stopping and overheats the i7 cpu using lots of system resources.

Computer runs normally when it is not on but overheats when I activate skydrive.  I therefore have no more cloud copies of my work.
Please assist.
