I have verified repeatedly that the account name is correct, I have never made it an alias to another account. When I try to make it an alias to my outlook account now it tells me that it doesn't exist, but when I try to make it an alias to my outlook account by creating a new email it tells me I can't because that account is already in use. I've been using this account almost daily for several years, and it is always signed in on my phone.
please help me get the account back.
1- tried to reset my password using normal methods. but could not. It was created so long ago I just can't remember to the answers.
2-Tried resetting my password by creating a new account and answering the security questions. The only problem being my mistake I was typing in the new account name I kept using *.Hotmail.com which is not me I had created a *@outlook.com account
is what I created. I cannot add anymore accounts because of my mistakes and need you to delete the @Hotmail.com accounts associated to my account so I can start over. Not sure what to do next.
Any Help would be appreciated.
Nancy
I'm transferring my own domain to outlook.com. I've just about completed this process and are now setting up the couple of email accounts that I want on this domain.
For one of the accounts I'm getting the error "That account name is not allowed for use with this service". Just before I got this error, I also got a message stating that:
A Microsoft account already exists with this account name. This was likely an account that was used before the domain was using this service.
You may import the account or you may evict this account and create a new account with this name. If you evict the account, the name may not be available for reuse for up to 60 days to protect the previous member's privacy.
I noticed that there are a few other people on this forum with the same issue. In those cases you raised a support ticket and had their issue resolved. Can I please get you to do the same and resolve the issue for me. I see that you usually create a private area to post the details so I will wait to get that before I provide the details to you.
Thank you.
