Please explain in details as I'm a techno noop....
I have account name *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and have been trying to log into it. Unfortunately, I don't remember the password and my account has been locked. I tried to go through the password reset, but when I submit to have the information sent to my new e-mail address (*** Email address is removed for privacy *** is old and no longer is use), I simply receive the request for reset form, which I have to filled out again and again. I seem to be caught in a loop. I need to have my *** Email address is removed for privacy *** account unlocked and my password reset on the account.

As with a number of other Microsoft Community members, I have encountered an error when adding a new e-mail account through the Windows Live Admin Center. I have successfully added 3 accounts on our domain through the Admin Center, but in trying to add another account, the Add Member Accounts screen returns the following error message: 'That account name is not allowed for use with this service'. It would appear that the name entered is the Account Name field is not allowed for some reason.
From other Forum posts on this topic in the Microsoft Community, it would appear that this situation can only be resolved by making a change at the back-end by a Senior Support Analyst, after providing the account information through a Private Message with a Moderator. I can provide the required account details if you can kindly send a Private Message link.
As the e-mail account in question is for work purposes, and needs to be established as soon as possible, I would be grateful if this request could be escalated. I have already tried Microsoft Support on the phone without resolution.
Thank you
I have a primary email account name sent up, for example, as *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, which I use to send most email from here. I also just set up an alias on this account, which shows up, for example, as *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. The email works fine from both except that I would like to be able to send email from the alias without my full name showing up along with it, as it does from the primary account because I have it set to do so on the primary account profile. Is there a way to configure the alias profile so that no name is used?
I have recently received an email on my gmail account that states:
Your Microsoft account has been renamed. We just wanted to check with you that it's okay.
- Old account name: my gmail account name
- New account name: a live.com account name not associated with me
If this is correct, you don't need to do anything.
If this is incorrect, please follow these steps:
1. Reset your password by going to https://account.live.com/password/reset
2. Rename your account by going to https://account.live.com/
Thanks,
The Microsoft account team
Shortly after that I received another email saying the account name had been changed from the new one to a completely different one at outlook.com
I am concerned first because my gmail account was listed and that is where I received the email from "Microsoft account team". I have already changed my password on my gmail account but what other steps do I need to take to insure my accounts are safe?
Thank you!
When entering my account name at sign in, how do I delete the options (previously entered addresses) which come up when I start to type my account name (ie10 operating under windows 7 and 8).
I inadvertently typed my password after account name in the account name box so everyone will be able to see it if they use my computer, unless I can delete the offending entry!
