I recently changed the password of my other email address on a Hotmail (now Outlook) account. When I tried to log in again, the password did not work, even after many tries. I made the account well over 10 years ago and did not record the answer to my security question (I should have). I tried the recovery form and knew previous passwords, but I had to leave most of the other question answers blank so the email back said my ownership proof was denied. This is my secondary email and I haven't sent emails out in a very long time. Most of the required questions on the recovery tool were about emails sent out recently or folders set up (I haven't set up any extra).
How can I recover my other account back? I have emails that I need access to again.
Thank you in advance for your help!
My account was hacked on February 20th after I clicked a bad link in an email from a friend.
For the past 6 months, I have been trying to recover my account. I have completed the Account Password Recovery verification form several times, and each time I received an email back saying they are unable to verify my identity. There is very little information on the verification from that I can enter. For example, I've had the account for 10 years, with the same password, so its impossible for me to recall what password I may have used over a decade ago. I do not have any credit card information linked to the account to use to verify my identity either. Whats more, the last emails I have sent were over 6 months ago so I have no way of knowing what the hackers have been sending out recently. I have been emailing several customer support representatives about this, and ALL have told me I have to complete the Account Password Recovery verification form, or they cannot help me otherwise. I have even posted in this community before and received the same response.
The worst part is, I am not even allowed to delete the account!! So someone else has access to my account which is linked to (and has been linked to) my work, bank accounts, social media etc. accounts for years. Can someone PLEASE HELP me either recover this account or delete it? The thought of someone else accessing my account with all of my personal information is extremely unsettling. I am sure if I could speak to someone on the phone, my account could be easily verified. There must be another way to access my own account of over 10 years. PLEASE HELP!!!!
