The MSNTV2 Closure FAQ letter states that we can still use our MSNTV2 Box to view photos, videos , and music via our home network via broadband after the service is shut down. But for the past 15 years, anytime power is lost to the box, it will pop up
a message requiring us to LOG INTO MSN to check our account status before it will allow us to access photos, videos , and music via our home network. ARE THEY (YOU) GOING TO SEND AN UPDATE TO THE BOX THAT WILL ALLOW US TO USE THE BOX FOR LOCAL VIEWING EVEN
AFTER THE SERVICE IS SHUT DOWN, WHEN THE BOX IS UNABLE TO LOG IN TO CHECK OUR ACCOUNT STATUS ??
THIS FROM THE MSNTV2 Closure FAQ letter:
Can I still use the MSN TV 2 set-top box after the service ends?
To some extent. If you have a home network set up via broadband, you can access videos and music from a PC. Also, if you have photo albums (these are stored on the box), you can still view them.
