Threat by hotmail team to permanently close my accout

today I got 2 emails saying that there is a virus in hotmail & msn. and if I do not send all of my personal information to you, you will permenantly block my account. The email says it's from the hotmail team. Is this fake? it must be because as far as I am concerned, my personal information is mine alone. Please advise.
