Using Windows 7 and Outlook 2010.....when I open my contacts, they are all there. However, from the Contacts page, if I try to start a new contact group and choose members, the contact list and address book are blank, as if the contacts I have aren't there (or they can't be seen). Can someone please help me?

Have about 30 names in my address book (contacts).  When I go to send an email and start to type the persons name no person or email info comes up.  If I click on the (To..)  it brings up the contact list and then I can find who I want and double click on it and it fills in the email address O.K.  When I type in the To.. field lets say John and if I have three people that start with John it should bring up all three and then choose the one you want to send an Email to and just click on it and it should fill in the Email address automatically. I can only get two people from the list of 30 to start typing there name and it will fill in there Email address.

Help!

I am traveling and using various guest ISP's, nearly all of which are at the houses of friends.

I have received a considerable number of messages from the "Outlook.com Team" like the one copied below.  These always make me verify my outlook.com account via a "CAPTCHA" before I can continue using it.

This is happening even though I am just e-mailing out the usual kinds of message I would send from my own home.  While a few are  to a "group" of 20-15 addresses that are also "normal" recipients for me, the majority are just to single addresses in my address book.

What can be done to stop this annoyance and have Outlook.com permanently treat me as a "safe" sender??

As an aside, I am using Windows Live Mail client on my own computer, and only recently have I noticed that the "synced" contacts in Outlook.com are no longer showing in the on-line "People" area.   (I previously synced them via Messenger,)

The address book I am using is the one located on my own computer in WLM.  Is it possible that this 'disparity" has caused the problem?

(I have tried to get my computer's address book imported to the Outlook.com area via a .csv file, but haven't been able to get the job done.)

Regards

This morning my outlook account was hacked and spam with a questionable link was sent to all of my address book.  I did a reply all to each spam sent and advised the recipients not to click on the link...and each link was different and it was only sent to 2 or 3 people at a time.  I've changed my password on my account.  Any other words of wisdom on how to prevent this from occurring again?
Thanks for your input.

I received an email from one of my friends and later found out she hadn't meant to send it. Since then, every time I send an email it sends the one I received from my friend to everyone in my address book - I'm guessing this is what happened to my friend.  I deleted the email as soon as I realised this had happened but still my hotmail keeps sending it to all my contacts every time I email something else.

I thought at first that it was a bug in my laptop so have run every debug programme I have but accessed my hotmail account from my work computer today and the very same thing happened again.

Can anyone suggest how I can fix this please??

I had three versions of my email account in Outlook 2013. I deleted 2. Everything worked fine except I have no Address Book/Contacts!

I retrieved the 2 deleted versions of my email account from the Recycle Bin back into Outlook 2013. No Contacts still.

Tried \Users\Username\Appdata\Local\Microsoft\OUtlook as advised by MS website. Nothing there.

I searched for .pst files and .wab files on my back up disc and only found files from 2007!

I found a .cvs file as LIve Mail Contacts (which I no longer use) but it is 5 months out of date.

Why when I delete a duplicate email account does my Address Book go as well?

I have no idea where my current Contacts in Address Book for OUtlook 2013 have gone and how I can restore them. My business is on hold till I can restore them.

On Outlook express I can rec email but not send. It says 'an error has occurred' and if click on address book, says unable to open as not installed properly.  All been working ok for some time but just updated to office 2010.
My hotmail account is hacked. Hacker has sent mails to people in my address book saying i am stuck in cyprus and in need of money, Hacker has also changed my secret question, alternate id and phone no. to obtain single-use code. Please HELP
Suddenly I'm getting junk mail in my inbox from people not in my address book, why?
Hi all,

I feel I am having an issue that unfortunately too many others have had before me.

I have had a hotmail account for nearly 8yrs without issue.

Yesterday the account got spammed, and sent offensive material to my entire address book, former colleagues, the lot.

I went though the account retrieval procedure, gained access again, moved my important emails to another account and then went to close/delete the account.

I type in my password to confirm I want to close the account and persistantly get the error message:

Our server is having a problem. We're working to fix it as soon as we can, so try again in a few minutes.

That was 24hrs ago, and I am livid as I am still receiving emails to that spammed account and I CAN'T STOP IT!

I just want the account DELETED FOR GOOD!!

Also, I made a new email address with live.co.uk to transfer my Xbox live gamertag too. I do not have a paid for membership but wanted to keep the tag, fair enough I though. However, when I logged into Xbox website with my new email address it immediately generated me a new gamertag that is now stuck to my nice new email address! Cheers microsoft!!!! I now have my original gamertag moved to a 3rd temporary email address and a stupid new tag stuck to my new address!!

How can I get rid of my spammed old account and have the gamertag I didnt ask for removed from my new account please.

I refuse to believe for one second it will be a difficult process for microsoft :/
