Will Windows Essentials 2012 take advantage of the Windows 8 spell checker?

I would really like to have spell checking in Messenger. I have Windows Essentials 2012 installed on Windows 8, but it will not use the Windows 8 spell checker. The only Microsoft app to do so seems to be Internet Explorer.
