In a shopping mall, I tried to log onto my Outlook account in the Apple store, on an iPad Mini, and it said "You haven't logged on from this location recently". It required me to send a confirmation code to my secondary email address. I didn't do that,
so I wasn't able to access my email. However, I ventured to the Microsoft store next door and was able to log in to Outlook smoothly with the HP ENVY TouchSmart 15. The "you haven't..." page did not show up at all, and I was able to see my email. I am wondering
if the added security only happens when one doesn't use a Microsoft-made product. Thank you.
Hi everybody,
First, I want to inform you that I'm french and I apologize for my beautiful english. :)
So, this afternoon, I went to an Apple Store because I have a problem with my e-mail account on my Mac.
The genius tries many things but it's not a problem from Apple because I receive my messages on my iPhone and -with the same settings- I can't receive them. On the mail app, there is no activities, the mail app starts to recover my messages but it stops.
What can I do ? I don't have any solutions :(
Thanks a lot
François
Like so many others, I cannot receive mail on my iphone 4s. The message is Cannot Get Mail, the connection to the server failed. I went into the Apple Store and they tried several things including removing the hotmail account, reseting to the default
options, changing passwords etc. They finally told me to call Hotmail support 1 800 986 4764. I was routed to a call center in India where I could not understand them and they could not transfer me to someone who spoke without an accent. I called twice
and spoke with 4 different people, all difficult to understand. I think they told me an alert was sent to the server and my account was shut down. They said it was a hacker and I would have to pay $49 for them to retreive my account information and set it
up again but thereafter I would have a protected account. My account works fine on my IPad and on PC. I did not pay the money. When an account is working fine and all of a sudden the connection to the server fails, do you think it is something I should
have to pay to fix? I read some of the other responses but I can't but think something is going on at your end when so many are having the same problem.
Hard drive crashed. Migrated everything from laptop. Office wouldn't accept code even though I just bought in May. Spoke with someone at Microsoft and she said to download it instead of migrating.
Safari wasn't working. Finally got to Apple Store today and they reinstalled Safari so that I could access internet. Redownloaded Outlook and put in Key Code. Everything working except Outlook. Keeps saying it can't switch to that identity. Running
Lion, not Mountain Lion.
Any ideas? It's been a week that I haven't been able to use this computer.
Mary
