This was a problem I experienced in 8.1 Preview and now I see it is the same in 8.1 proper. I have tried marking the Apple emails as junk but the odd one still gets into my in-box. If this then gets to the top of the list Mail closes or freezes as it tries to open it. What is it about emails from Apple that is causing Mail to crash and is there anything I can do about it?

Any advice appreciated.

I shared with Outlook (Windows computer) an agenda. The people who have a Windows computer, can accept the invitation of the agenda, but people on an apple computer (they have Outlook for Mac 2011) can't. They all get the message that they do not have access to see the calendar. Is it possible to accept the invitation using a mac? If so, how?

EU TENHO - REPITO - UMA CONTA PLUS!

I'm having a problem with Outlook 2011 (updated) constantly wanting to download old emails (~800!).  I see this problem posted by other users, all of which appear to be POP accounts.  My problem differs because it is a Gmail account configured for IMAP with Outlook.

Because I've never had this problem befor upgrading to OXS 10.9, I see elsewhere that this may be a problem with this particular OSX because Apple made changes.  However, those references are generally about Apple Mail, not a 3rd party software like Outlook.  I also see that a fix is in the works for Apple Mail.  Because I see the same happening with Outlook, does this imply the problem is with how OSX handles email accounts, and that I'll have to wait for Apple? ... or can I expect a remedy from Microsoft?? (... whether it be a fix found here in this forum, or an software patch later)

EDIT:  My apologies ... the account I'm having problems with is my only POP account, which as it so happens cannot be configured as IMAP.  I'll need look into how its configured for deleting past emails ...

TA  (thanks anyway) :)

It beggars belief that Microsoft continues to make ever increasing mistakes in their software.  Why do we need to wait 10 minutes for Windows to load only to face ever more puzzling menus in Excel, Word etc. and to face ever more bizarre Outlook menus.  And today I see that the new format of Outlook is not (seemingly) compatible with Microsoft Word attachments.  Seriously?  The amount of R&D Microsoft spends and you end up with this?

Apple focuses its products on what the consumer needs.  Microsoft seems to aim to please IT geeks who revel in designing complex programmes.  I have just had Office 2010 installed - and immediately it crashes Word when I select a font change or crashes Excel when I do the same.  People use Apple because the want to but use Office because they have to (corporate policy).

Right, I will go for a long coffee break while I reboot Windows....

I recently upgraded to OS X 10.9 and since the upgrade I have discovered that Apple has kindly removed the contact and calendar syncing options from iTunes.

The previous version of OS X (Mountain Lion) synced perfectly with Outlook via iCal and Apple Contacts ... now it seems the functionality has been removed.

Before embarking on an OS X downgrade I'm searching around to see a) if others have encountered the same issue b) whether anyone has been able to ascertain whether this is likely to be fixed by MS or Apple? and if so when? or lastly whether some smart cookie out there has found a solution.
Apple has finally told me over the phone that you can no longer sync outlook 2011 with your IOS device; this includes syncing the data through iTunes. The senior specialist stated that I MUST use a cloud service to sync data from my macbook pro now running Mavericks.

Has anyone found a way to sync their outlook completely to iOS 7 iPhones, without using Apple's iCloud?

Having trouble importing Apple Contacts into Outlook 2011 for Mac.  The instructions in the Outlook for Mac help function direct you to export to a vCard file and place it on the desktop.  Then drag the file from the desktop to the "Contacts" folder in Outlook.  When I do that nothing happens.

The Import function in Outlook 2011 for Mac does not have an import selection for vCards, just .pst and comma delimited or text files.

Is there something that I'm doing wrong.  The directions seem so simple, but it's not working.

On Sat Oct/ 12 /2013@7:32 AM an email dropped in my inbox - From this address: *** Email address is removed for privacy *** The domain belong to Apple Corp. and the email text is ,.[Hi Dear. Hello,
When I delete my emails from Mail on the Apple Desktop they are not deleted from my hotmail, they just go to POP. When I open hotmail and get the pop notification on the bottom I press change setting but then it says something is wrong with outlook. That happens every time I press change setting. How can I make it that when I delete emails from my Mail on the apple desktop it deletes it from hotmail, same things when sending emails to drafts....etc
Thanks,
Bader
