error: Create association in default program control panel

this occurs when trying to send some documents/pictures

when I get an email with a link in it, I can no longer follow the link. I get this error message.

this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. create an association in the Set Associations control panel.

How do I fix this?

I have switched back to Hotmail from Outlook but my emails are now being grouped, unsolicited, and often wrongly with no association among the grouped emails. How can I stop this? I didn't ask for Outlook and think that it is not well thought through but now I seem to be saddled with its so-called functions back in Hotmail. Any ideas?

Nous sommes de plus en plus souvent coincés avec les limites quotidiennes des comptes.
Je gère une association et ai un mailing avec 200 adresses.
Comment puis-je faire ??

I receive e-mail which contain hyperlinks to many retailers and traders associated with my line of work and I am unable to access their websites by clicking on the links. A message appears, which begins, "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action..." It then instructs me to either install a program or create an association in the Default Programs control panel. My WLM was fine yesterday but today it's not. Help! Please?

Years ago under Options there was an option for filtering out unwanted e-mails by highlighting suspicious words.  I used this but it appears to be preventing me from receiving "changed passwords". May I had put down "Password" as a suspicious word!  In the last month the Automobile Association, Virgin and Truprint send me e-mails with a changed password seeing that I had forgotten the original Not one has turned up - too much of a coincidence!
I've tried sending Microsoft Answers a "screen shot" of an email from my college alumni association, which should NOT  be marked as "suspicious", but the dumb (misnamed) "SmartScreen" filters still keep flagging those messages as such. I have the alumni association's email address in my list of "safe" contacts, and consistently click "Show content", but there doesn't seem to be anything else I can do get the filters to stop 'red-flagging' the messages. In the meantime, I keep getting email that I always mark as "junk" in my inbox, over & over from the same senders. Makes me suspect that Microsoft is accepting payments from the senders to keep letting that particular junk through, and regarding it as "advertising revenue", since invariably the stuff that comes through is some kind of advertising. I'd switch to another email address, via a different provider, but unfortunately other providers do the same damn thing. Not much I can do other than grumble. I may have to 'just live with it', but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
