I've decided to close my Gmail account, and for that purpose I've added my account into Outlook as a Send/Receive account so that I get a backup of all my emails in Outlook. There are thousands of emails, and it will take some time to complete. I was browsing the imported emails in Outlook and noticed a lot of documents and images. I want to have an archive of these documents, and not lose them with closing my account. I wanted to know whether those attachments will also be preserved into my Outlook account or does Outlook fetch them as and when required?
Also, another (unrelated) query. Is there any limit on the total inbox size of Outlook? As far as I know, there isn't one.
Thanks!
I'm running Windows 8.1 with Internet explorer 11 and since updating to Windows 8.1 I can no longer open attachments to Windows Live email that contains a photo. Icon has a red X in the middle of the icon. Won't view as slide show either.
Suggestions say to allow all attachments. Did that and had the email forwarded to me again but still can't open the attachment. Strange is that my wife on her Windows 7 computer can open the files with no problems.
Tried adding the email address of the person sending the email as always accept attachments but that did no good either.
Had a customer who reported the same problem with some of her customers but back then a couple of weeks back before upgrade to Windows 8.1, I could open the file, so thought she was doing something wrong.
Removing all the security still won't let it open or download the attachment.
I cannot open any attachments using IE with outlook.com. I log into my email and see the icon. I click the icon and nothing happens. I select Download icon and nothing happens. I select Download as zip link and nothing happens. I have tried the following suggestions based on the information I've seen in similar posts.
1) Cleared IE cache
2) Deleted Browsing history (from inetcpl.cpl run command)
3) Restarted computer
4) Checked Silverlight
5) Checked browser settings and there is no blocking of attachments
System information: Win 7 64 bit with all latest updates, IE10 with latest updates
I CAN open them when I try with google chrome browser so it must be specific to IE and outlook.com. Please help.
