I keep getting prohibited file notification on all incoming and outgoing e-mails where the attachments are either a Microsoft work or Microsoft office attachment.  I know that these files are not corrupt, how do I fix this so I can open these files.  Again, it is even flagging my outgoing attachments.  HELP!
having troubles attaching attachments to my emails, also on gmail acct, yet can sent from IE

I'm running Windows 8.1 with Internet explorer 11 and since updating to Windows 8.1 I can no longer open attachments to Windows Live email that contains a photo.  Icon has a red X in the middle of the icon.  Won't view as slide show either.

Suggestions say to allow all attachments.  Did that and had the email forwarded to me again but still can't open the attachment.  Strange is that my wife on her Windows 7 computer can open the files with no problems.

Tried adding the email address of the person sending the email as always accept attachments but that did no good either.

Had a customer who reported the same problem with some of her customers but back then a couple of weeks back before upgrade to Windows 8.1, I could open the file, so thought she was doing something wrong.

Removing all the security still won't let it open or download the attachment.

Hi,

I also need to print an attached file.
But my computer at work doesn't respond when I click to download the file.
At home everything works fine.

Do I need to install a program (active X?) to open my attachments?
Could you tell me which one?

Thank you.

Ever since updating to version 14.3.8 I am unable to send attachments as .eml files. Normally I would compose a new message and drag the email I wanted to attach to the compose window to attach it. This still works and I can write my email, but after I send it I get a bounceback saying "554 5.6.0 Invalid message content (in reply to end of DATA command)". All other emails/attachments work fine, and sending eml attachments through our web interface works fine as well. Is there anything I can look at to stop this from happening through Outlook?
I accessed an old email yesterday out of one of my folders. I viewed 2 of the 3 attachments contained in the email online. When I hit back to view the 3rd attachment I was brought back to the folder screen and the email dated early 2012 was gone. I have searched everywhere for this email, junk, deleted, POP, I trawled thought every folder and have used the search function extensively. If something similar has happened to you and you can help please let me know. I need access to this email!
Outlook.Com has a policy of not allowing over 25 attachments.Man oh Man Outlook.Com techs, I cannot forward an email which has about twenty attachments (pictures) because the attachments are numbered 100 to 120, so Outlook.Com denies forwarding because there is a limit of " 25 attachments" Outlook.Com must think there are 120 attachments. Gosh darn it Outlook.com

I cannot open any attachments using IE with outlook.com.  I log into my email and see the icon.  I click the icon and nothing happens.  I select Download icon and nothing happens.  I select Download as zip link and nothing happens.  I have tried the following suggestions based on the information I've seen in similar posts.

1) Cleared IE cache

2) Deleted Browsing history (from inetcpl.cpl run command)

3)  Restarted computer

4) Checked Silverlight

5)  Checked browser settings and there is no blocking of attachments

System information:  Win 7 64 bit with all latest updates, IE10 with latest updates

I CAN open them when I try with google chrome browser so it must be specific to IE and outlook.com.  Please help.
