I am unable to add an attachment to an email

When I try to attach anything to an email I get the error message -  Internet Explorer is not woirking and the program will be closed. This has only started to happen in the last 2 days following automatic windows updates. I am on a PC with windows 7. Plus I now seem to be on IE10 although I have always said no to the upgrade but it seems to have been done anyway.

 

I have read all the previous posts about this problem and tried what solutions I can.
