I have gone through my ISP provider first and we together have completed several troubleshooting suggestions, but the email gets locked up again and again.   The error message is 0x800ccc0f: Unable to send or receive messages for the Bellsouth (escawrc) (1) account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Server: 'inbound.att.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes

I have already tried: 1) repairing WLM, 2) creating new profile acct - works for awhile and then gives error; all emails have not downloaded from the webmail, 3) made changes to server timeouts under accounts. 4) disabled norton antivirus, etc.   I don't know of anything else to do.   I don't like accessing email through webmail because I like for emails to be saved to hard drive.   I really would like resolution to this.

Thanks,

My e-mail has suddenly stopped working, even though all settings are correct.  ATT my internet provider tells me it is a compatibility problem with Outlook for Mac 2011. I have an old Bellsouth.net address. I have tried various pop and smtp configurations suggested by ATT, but nothing works.  I get a cannot send mail error, please enter username and password, but they are correct and even on re-entering the same error comes up. Do you have any ideas? Thank you Florida Blade.  You can reply on another e-mail address that does work. *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
Original Title: Outlook 2011 for Mac
I have three email accounts the gmail account works just fine but I can't get the bellsouth and att accounts to work in outlook.  When I try to send receive I keep getting an auth error.  I have deleted these accounts and re-installed them several times and they still don't work.  Is there something else I need to do?
Im having trouble signing into my origianl Hotmail account due to the fact someone has appearently hacked it or something. When i sign in it tells me Sorry someone else is using this account and redirects me to a page to recieve a code but i dont have a Bellsouth account so i clicked Dont have any of these options it redirects me to another page requesting Name of Email trying to get into then asks for Aa different email to send information to so i type those in. Now when i recieve an answer after submiting all the Info i have EVER used for that account they reply with a SORRY THIS ISNT YOUR ACCOUNT. My Secret answer thing as a mutliple answer thing to to me have multiple people i admire historicly so theres one prob but the rest of my Information i submit is as accurate as can be could use some assistance with the prob if at all possible.
Added an iPhone with email and now MacBook Pro Outlook will not send/receive. Error message: "outlook doesn't support any of the available authentication methods".  Bellsouth is the internet service provider.  Neither they nor Verizon could help.  Next steps?  All worked fine until the phone was added. Another person who has PC added an iPad with email with no issues.  Same family and week.

I'm using Windows live Mail on an eight-month-old computer running Windows 7 64-bit. It seemed to be doing just fine until my dial-up BellSouth/AT&T Internet account instructed me to change my inbound and outbound mail settings from the old BellSouth servers to new AT&T servers. After struggling for weeks to get the new settings to work, I still have one set of problems which is making my mail a nightmare to use. I'm constantly getting the error message:

"Unable to send or receive messages for the Bellsouth account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Server: 'inbound.att.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F

I think because my e-mail can never finish downloading, I'm getting a second problem: I'm constantly getting the same messages flooding my inbox over and over until there are hundreds of each one. I've had this problem at times in the past with other computers using mail programs I'm more familiar with like Microsoft outlook. I I have gone directly into my AT&T account many times now deleting messages hoping that there's one that's screwing up Microsoft live, but it never fixes the problem. Going into my e-mail account with my browser is also a problem, because for some reason about half the time whenever I try to login, the browser window (Internet Explorer 9) simply closes! The AT&T website where I check my mail is the only one that does this. It's maddening!

I'm spending 90% of my computer time now desperately deleting messages out of both Microsoft live and directly from AT&T. The only thing I know to do in the Microsoft Live settings is under the advanced tab where I've increased my server timeouts to first 3 min. and then 4 min. Under delivery "leave a copy of messages on server" is currently unchecked, but I've tried it both ways and neither seems to make any difference.

If someone out there can help me I would be so grateful. I feel like I'm on the edge of losing my sanity over this. I'm losing many hours that I can't afford to lose, and I'm almost ready to throw this computer that I desperately need out the window! Thank you.
