I just ran a windows update using Windows 8.1. I am a University student and I was writing a paper, so before restarting I EXPLICITLY saved the document and closed Word (no warning was given saying I was closing an unsaved document). After I restarted
and re-opened my paper to finish writing, word said something to the extent of, "Your files failed to sync, do you want to load the internet version or the local version". Knowing that I EXPLICITLY saved the document I selected Local version.
Now I'm staring at a blank document. I've lost my entire paper, and I'm reasonably certain that there is nothing that can be done about it. Microsoft you get an F- for this. Skydrive is unstable, and deletes documents...this shouldn't happen.
If there is another method of recovering my document I'd like to know, but after two hours of searching I have found nothing and I have to start re-writing my paper..
Thank you Microsoft
Sincerely,
A pissed off subscriber
