Skype upgraded itself to latest version 6.0.73.126 in windows 8 and in the process removed messenger and advised to have im from Skype. fine. but messenger was also giving email alert of emails in outlook.com. now that messenger is uninstalled I am not
able to get email alerts at all or access outlook,com directly by clickin on messenger. messenger also remembered my username and password and when I click on the inbox, I was landing in outlook.com. but now that messenger is not there, I have to open internet
explorer, enter in webaddress Hotmail.com or outlook.com and when it opens the username page, I have to enter username and password, every time I want to check my email. can Microsoft help me/advise me with better technique. I don't use im so im from Skype
is not of much use to me. messenger was very useful for (1) getting email alerts and (2) quickly access outlook.com without entering username and password. is it possible to reinstall messenger?

Using Outlook for Mac 2011 Version 14.2.3
A few facts:
1. It is not my company's policy to require VPN to access email.
2. On my Mac I can only access email when using VPN.
3. My Android phone has no problem receiving email and has become my primary email retrieval method.
4. Whether I am on ethernet in the office (no VPN) or on VPN from home or a hotel/cafe, I am constantly switched into "Not Connected" status.
5. When I am having problems I regularly get prompted for my password (even though I have saved it in my Keychain) and it NEVER works.
6. When I relaunch Outlook and am NOT prompted for my password, it connects and syncs fine.
This point deserves reiterating: When Outlook prompts for a password, it fails to connect 100% of the time and will always fail until relaunched. When Outlook is launched and successfully connects it does so without prompting for a password 100%
of the time. This means the algorithm that decides whether or not to prompt for a password is fatally flawed.
7. I have used Charles Proxy[1] to log HTTP traffic and it is a complete mess.
7a. My email ends in @coxin.com, however, while at this company I have had @ajc.com and @cmgdigital.com email addresses and I still receive email that is sent to those addresses in my current account.
7a. I have seen Outlook request https://autodiscover.coxinc.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml and get an XML response that includes: <RedirectAddr>[name-hidden]@ajc.com</RedirectAddr>
7b. There is no autodiscover.ajc.com
When Outlook silently switches to "Not Connected" status I can find no way to get it to attempt to reconnect other than to quit and reopen Outlook. Everyone I know says that their iPhones/iPads and Android phones/tablets are the most reliable way to interact
with an Exchange server. This should not be. There should be a lot of work invested in connection error handling, messaging, and logging.

We have two hotmail accounts on the same computer mine is .com my sons is .co.uk my account is fine but my sons is reporting an error mesage
Server Error 0x80048862. How do I fix this .Any help andI would be very grateful
I've been unable to login to my mail account for approximately the last 5 hours. I'm just getting a page saying "Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Hotmail right now".
I can log into the attached Live account so I don't believe it is a problem with the password or similar permissions.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

I am using outlook connector for my personal mail. I have no problem with microsoft outlook 2007 sending or receiving mails.
1) The problem is-- My sent mail is saved in outlook 2007 but not saved in window live hotmail (hotmail.com). please give me some solution.
2) what are the setting for hotmail imap or http.
3) outlook is not sending mail until you have to restart the program.

When I sign into Hotmail, my folders are along the right frame, then there is empty space, and the messages are seen by scrolling way down. None can be opened, the links do not work. I signed in from a windows based computer to opt out of Outlook.com,
and the view on the windows based system is the normal hotmail view. I am using Safari 5.0.6 Mac computer, and all I did was clear the cache, and this has happened. How do I get the normal view with working links back? I tried options, and it says it is forbidden
to change the view settings to "right"...
