I have figured out how to forward new emails from Comcast to Outlook. But cannot figure out how to import / transfer / migrate / move / whatever PREVIOUS emails already in the Comcast account over to Outlook. Search results all say to use TrueSwitch, but it's no longer operational. Only method seems to be to forward each one. No good. I can forward a bunch at a time as attachments, but then they don't "un-bundle" on the Outlook end. No good either. Only a week until the Comcast account expires. Can someone help? Not terribly techy, but understand the basics, and I see that clear instructions are often given. Thanks.

Original title: Forward comcast emails.

From my Outlook.com email account, I went to More Maill Settings under the little gear icon in the upper right hand corner. Under Manage Your Accounts, I selected Your email accounts.  I selected Add a send and receive account.  I then put in my name, the email address of my Comcast (Xfinity) account and password.  I got the message:

  • "*** Email address is removed for privacy *** has been updated
Now you can send email from this account.
To check your account status or edit your settings, go to Option"

It worked fine for a few days, but now I am not getting any messages from my comcast.net account in my Outlook.com Inbox.  I can still send an email from Outlook.com usinig my comcast.net account.
Can anyone help me with this?

I have recently changed antivirus programs from ATT Mcafee antivirus to Comcast Norton antivirus; I can sign in to outlook.com but can't perform any functions such as read the e-mails. the address in the addressbar is (https://bay174.mail.live.com/default.aspx)

My os is windows XP Media Center Edition version 2002 service pack 3, computer: AMD athlon 64 processor 3200+ 2.0 GHz, 3.43 GB of RAM.

The only error message I see is in the bottom left corner of the screen (error on page)

The internet explorer info is: Version 8.0.6001.18702IC
Build 86001
Application Path C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer
Language English (United States)
Active Printer Canon MG6200 series Printer,winspool,Ne02:

Cipher Strength 128-bit
Content Advisor Disabled
IEAK Install Yes
Is there a way to correct this?

I cannot connect to my email through Windows Live Mail 2011 at all.  The program tries to connect and authorize but never completes.  I have confirmed ports and settings with Comcast twice.  I have turned off my virus protection software, and then tried to completely uninstall the Norton program but neither of those steps had any effect.  I receive the following error message each time I try to open my email:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Comcast .........  account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Server: 'mail.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes

Please help!
Just bought new computer for my mother - can't get her Comcast email set up using Outlook.com. Have downloaded and installed updates and still get "We can't connect to Outlook at the moment. Please try again later."  FOR HOURS!

What's the problem? Doesn't look like I'm the only one experiencing this - makes me want to connect her with Gmail.

Please advise, thank you.

Will there be a day when I can get my @outlook.com mail in Outlook.com? Same issues, I realize this isn't a new issue - old Microsoft email account (Comcast), won't let me add address or create alias, of course, this means I can't use the nifty new outlook.com app for my Android phone. I can get all of my other email addresses on it (Comcast, gmail, aol). I guess I am hitting the frustration wall. Thankfully I can get my outlook.com email through Office Outlook.

I have Outlook for Mac 2011 and set up 3 emails from Comcast. I switched providers and set up Verizon accounts and continued to get emails from both.

As expected, I can no longer access the old provider. But now I am getting constant "Could not retrieve mail" errors and would like to instruct Outlook to stop trying to access Comcast. I need to save the older emails so if I delete the accounts, will I lose all of my older emails?

Is there a setting to keep the accounts, but instruct Outlook not to try to access mail?
