thanks, this is really bothering me.
Since MSN online access was discontinued, I have been using Outlook.com. With this service I have full access to the emails and folder structure that was on MSN, but I cannot find the emails that were saved in the folders on my computer. Is there a way to move them over to Outlook.com or access them through Outlook.com?
Thanks,
Bob
How do I use SkyDrive to free up some space on my P.C.? I now have twice the storage space used on my computer ie: Documents Folder is now also using same space in SkyDrive/Documents Folder. I don't share everything with Sky Drive so I'm very confused...why do I need two of the same folders in my computer? Should I work from the SkyDrive documents folder or my original documents folder? Can I delete files from computer and leave in SkyDrive somehow without them being anywhere on my computer?
AND....can a hacker access my sky drive? I have been embarrassed enough already when a hacker got ahold of all of my contacts and sent Viagra ads to them all FROM ME. Boy did I have some explaining to do. Most of my elderly contacts (like my mother) couldn't grasp the concept of my being hacked...I think they still believe I sent them... :-l
I've already dealt with Microsoft support over an account issue I was having with Bing, and the problem was determined to have been because I'm using a VPN, so my account was blocked due to the large number of different connections. The Bing team was able to simply reactivate my (rewards) account. So, I assume this is a similar issue.
I checked the outgoing connections in Fiddler, and here's what appears to be notable. When I attempt to download a file from the SkyDrive folder, this is the outgoing request:

If I try to use the SkyDrive Windows Store app, I get a message saying "To connect to your SkyDrive, you need to go to PC settings and update Windows." (http://i.imgur.com/xG7z40I.png) If I click "Go to PC Settings", it brings me to the Windows Update section and it says there are no available updates.
I submitted a ticket yesterday on the page for suspended accounts, but they replied saying "We have received a recent request to reactivate your account, however, when we checked we noticed that your account does not appear to be closed. We have also reexamined the content and have determined that the files are not in violation of the Microsoft COC or TOU. If you are still unable to access the account there may be a technical issue with it. You can contact the technical support team at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us"
On August 14, 2012 I contacted MSN at 1 866 672 4551(sales Dept.) because that was the only number that i could get through to when I was not able to get into my hot mal account. The person told me that technical support was 1 866 612 4220 and they could help me because there were
problems with the server. A man Technician 18 said that he need to remotely access my account and he used Applet and took over my computer.
He said there was a problem with the servers but he could help me. The MSN person gave me a customer ID number of 678669. he worked and
worked on my account and said that he was having to run programs. He worked and worked on my hotmail and then we were disconnected. A man with an accent called me back and told me that he needed to get me remotely connected to the technician again. He used the remote control of Applet and i noticed that it was OMNI tech support Tech 18 that I was again using. The technician got on the live chat again and went to a window called a note pad and asked me to give him my e-mail address and password so he could keep working on my problem. I gave it to him
and noticed that my Norton popped up and was turned off. I quickly turned it back on, went to the live chat and said i hop i didn't do anything to
mess up your work but i just noticed that my Norton was turned off. He said no. I asked if he received my e-mail address and password and he said yes. Then his story changed and he said that everything he ran said that my e-mails were infected and someone hacked into my account and he needed to fix my computer immediately. He said that he needed to delete my hotmail and my MSN account and set up a new one. I said that
I was not having trouble with the MSN account that i just couldn't get into Hot Mail. He said that i needed to tell him immediately if I gave him permission to fix my account. I asked if i would have my account closed down. He wouldn't answer but kept pressuring me to make a decision fast before someone infected my whole computer with polymorphic infections and errors. After asking about 5 times being ignored, He said yes my account would be gone. I mentioned that i didn't want to loose all of my contacts. He said he'd try to save them for me. This went on for about four hours. I put in a phone call to my IT person while i was on a live chat with Technician #18. I mentioned in the chat that i needed to talk with my IT person. I was told that my IT person couldn't help me that "he was not certified to get into the server like me(tech 18). By then i was on the phone with my IT person and tried to scroll to read the live chat information. Technician 18 kept taking over my computer by hiding the window. I was frustrated because i'd scroll and the window would disappear but i was able to get some information to my IT person. Then Tech 18 said for $500 dollars he could clean up my computer and i'd never have the problem again. I was talking with my IT person still trying to scroll through the chat to get information to him. I said, can you give me a minute please. Technician 18 said is it a matter of money, i can talk to my supervisor. I said give me a minute because i was trying to get information from my IT person. A notepad window kept popping up covering the chat window. I kept having to close it out. Finally the notepad window opened up and it said my supervisor ewxt and the guy disappeared along with the chat.
My IT person took 8 hours changing passwords, changing the server info., running scans and cleaning up the computer to make sure everything
was OK. He also went to hotmail and checked a box and i could see my hotmail account again. I had been received MSN the whole time and he explained to me that there was nothing wrong with my account and and it took him a second to click on the hotmail box to get me into hotmail.
I want to report this to MSN security because i don't want it to happen to anyone else.
So why won't it pull up my email inbos?
Have just downloaded and installed Live Mail on my daughter's computer [running W8 - 64 bit], but it will not open, Restarted computer but still nothing happens, timer spins for about 10 seconds, then disappears, and the desktop remains. How do I open this to create an account?
