HI guys,
I'm trying to set up outlook for a client on their mac.
the version of outlook is 2011 for mac. it is with an exchange server. I am setting this up on an internal network. (using a VPN with VPN Tracker 6)
I have internet connectivity though the VPN and can Ping the mail server's URL.
However,
whenever I try to send/receive with outlook, I get error -17199
what am i missing?
Problem began after I performed backup on time machine and reinstall of OS X due to connectivity problems, I now only get Outlook search results from before the back up/reinstall, and I don't even have access to a lot of my word docs. I rely on the search
since I work from home. All of the items are still there. The search worked great before I upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7.5 for 10.6.8. The tech had to copy the whole desktop onto an external hard drive, then reinstall the new OS X 10.7.5 . Since then, when
I search on Outlook, I only get results from before 9/26 (when the backup and update occurred). The search works great for those items, but doesn't show anything I need for after 9/26. I tried changing the identity with Microsoft Database Utility and that
didn't do it. I've left my MacBook Pro on for 3 straight days, hoping to get the indexing done. It has gone from 3 months, to 2 years, now at 11 months! Any suggestions? How do I fix Spotlight with OS X 10.7.5? Thanks.
for several days now, both on my laptop at home and on other peoples machines, elsewhere in the area, i have found it almost impossible to use hotmail. It seems that every time i try to carry out a task, whether it is opening an email or sending one, i
lose connection with hotmail-- including losing the email i have just typed. sometimes i get a very small window of opportunity and i think "maybe its fixed now" and as soon as i do that the connectivity goes again.
I have carried out all the suggestions i have seen in the forum for clearing and cleaning the machine and its history, i have signed in using various browsersand nothing has restored hotmail to its previously trouble free performance.
is this a local issue ? it cannot be merely my laptop as it has happened on other machines i have tried.or is it possible that my account is corrupted in some way ?
i would rather keep the account that i have for a range of reasons but is this loss of connectivity going ot be a constant problem from now on?
i have just remembered something which may be relevant. i have btinternet plus security and a recent mcaffee update made it impossible for me to get onto the internet. so the internet plus security had to be uninstalled ( i still have the Mcaffee though) . this problem with hotmail seems to have started round about that time. might there be a link do you think?

All the time when I want to send an e-mail, appears the following message:" There was a problem with the Hotmail service (a temporary network connectivity issue that has nothing to do with your computer). Please try again. If you keep seeing this message,
go to Service status to check if there's a problem with Hotmail. "
I went already 8 times to service status.....but nothing works

During a 'cleanup' with a third party product (Speedy PC Pro) my Windows Livemail lost connectivity to its database. I have tried using the application's Restore function but to no avail. How can I re-establish thie connectivity as it is vital for my business?
