Guys,

This is not working. I have the same issue my Identity is 2 GB. Following the microsoft guideline for rebuilding the identity the program (Microsoft Database Utility) is trying to close all MS applications. But th eforced stop shows no MS office applications running.

So once again MS product fail. I wish i could return the license and get my money back.
I have Office Home & Student, I installed after using the trial version. Now every time I open Word, Excel or Powerpoint I get the "There is a problem with the Office Database". I already tried the rebuild instruction to no avail and I don`t have Outlook. I`m up to date to version 14.2.3. Looking for a way to get rid of this message.

Outlook for Mac 2011: After installing the Service Pack 2 for Mac 2011 I received the error: please upgrade the office database.  I found the solution online about rebuilding the main identify.  I followed all of the steps and it took me over an hour.  When I open Outlook and choose my main identify it still does not recognize the identity.  I don't know who to call or what to do.  I don't think I should have pay someone since it is Microsoft's error in rolling out the update.  I can not access my email.  HELP!

Error after installing Service Pack 2 (14.2.1).

Initial window message "Please upgrade the Office Database".

Then click on "upgrade" and gives me a message "Need to rebuild your identity" and goes to 1-5 steps finalizing with "your identity cannot be rebuilt".

Then ALWAYS FAILS and the outlook seems corrupt as the initial message "Please upgrade the Office Database" keeps coming back. I have done this many times and tried freeing up space in the hard drive, creating a new identity but appears blank.

Please help. Thank you.

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion installed.  I added Office for Mac: 2011, Home & Business.  OS and Office fully updated.

I have an IMAP e-mail account.  Outlook is not connected to an exchange server.

There are messages not showing up in Outlook that are showing in my inbox on the server.

Troubleshooting steps:
Used Microsoft Database Utility to rebuild my Identity.
Used Microsoft Database Utility to create a new identity.
Deleted ALL Identities and rebuilt a new one.
Configured Mail to connect to same server without issue and no missing messages.
Removed all filters.

Additional information:
Status bar indicates "All folders are up to date."
Status bar indicates "Connected to mydomain"
Enabled Schedule "Send & Receive All" and added action to Receive Mail.
When I do a "Send & Receive All" from schedules, Outlook indicates downloading 6 messages, but the server has 10 messages in the user's inbox.  She has 4 messages in Outlook.  That does total 10.

In Outlook, I'm directed to rebuild the database. That then fails and I can't access my email. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Doug
Hi, My outlook would not open this am.  (switched to Mac from PC in May and had my database transferred to the new Mac).  14.2.2 Office.  I tried moving files as directed (com.microsoft.Outlook.plist and 4 others) from the Library to the Desktop and then tried opening outlook to no avail.  Then moved the Microsoft User Data folder to the desktop as directed.   I can get Outlook to open now, but none of my data is there.  How do I get my data back into Outlook?  (i did make a duplicate copy and that also is on the desktop.  it is a huge file, took 30 min to duplicate)  Thanks,
Grace S.
Since migration from Entourage to Outlook with Mountain Lion as O/S I was outlook was crashing with the message: "Database Daemon Fatal Error" After various patches to Outlook and O/S  the frequency of crashes reduced substantially.  The frequency has increased dramatically when i migrated to Lion O/S.  How can i fix this as its extremely frustrating
