After recovering mysteriously disappearing email messages through a five hour process, I would compose an email, send it, and then try to return to email home. However, a dialog box would appear saying not connected, with one line below saying one message had been sent and another was being executed, with a spinning "eternal" circle that never goes away. I then reboot and all seems well, except the process starts again as soon as I try to send another email. I have tried suggestions in the forum, including repairing Windows 11 Essentials, and nothing changes. I have never had this issue before. DFK
I have about 20-30 '(Unnamed)' entries in my contact directory/address book, which I suspect is allowing remote accounts to email spam directly into my in-box. I tried deleting them, but I get a warning dialog box with following: "Some of there contacts come from another service and can't be deleted. Would you like to just delete the Outlook and Messenger contacts?". Net, I suspect my contact directory/addressbook has been hacked with these records which allow remote bots to spam junk mail directly into my in-box folder. How do I get rid of these entries?
Partial screen shot shown below.
I've tried all the suggestions I could find here - deleted the prefs, rebuilt the database, started with the shift key held down. It's the same thing every time. I have no previous installation of Outlook or Outlook Express or Entourage or any Microsoft mail software on this computer. I'm about to chuck it and go back to Apple's software, unless someone has a suggestion that might work. All help appreciated.

Using Mountain Lion and Office 2011. Went away over Christmas over which time my MacBook Pro had gone into hibernation as the battery level had dropped and I'd left the original power supply in the office. Go a new one today and powered up. Tried to go into Outlook which downloaded the outstanding mail and the posted an error that the database needed rebuilding. This the Database Daemon has steadfastly refused to do. After reading through some of the posts here none seemed to address the exact issue I have because after several attempts to recover as suggested I now had a dialog box permanently up saying the Database needs to be rebuild. Close this dialog down and another will open immediately. Try to rebuild the database and a dialog box will open immediately suggesting that I rebuild the database, and another, and another, and another. I've had up to 7 of these dialog boxes open at one time.
So I restored from the backup in Time Machine to the latest full backup, then recovered all my post, which was OK until all the software updates also came down. On rebooting I'm back where I started - rebuild the database with the dialog box refusing to go away. Closing the Daemon doesn't solve the problem as it restarts itself.
So How can I stop this dialog box, rebuild the database and get on with my life?
Best regards
Rob

Left a "comment" with hotmail months ago concerning several email contacts that appear only during drop-down box selection when electing to send a new message that I did NOT add to my contacts.
Today, although I could sign-in and see my inbox page I, no access was allowed. Only message was a Windows dialog box that stated an IE issue. Then, it "recovered" the page (hotmail site) and then loops these messages continuously.
NO hotmail specific messages given.
NO trouble with other websites, file or folders on my computer.
Cannot delete suspect contacts which include:
DrunkGirlRoom
FunRoom
HornyGirlHere
I LOVE ANIMALS
SexyChickRoom
Have done the following:
changed hotmail PW (as has been done in the past)
ran:
Microsoft Safety Scanner 1.0.3001.0
McAfee
Malwarebytes
Registry scanner
ALL above cover anti-virus, malware, spyware and "other" threat scans in duplicity. Further, most recent update for each program was used during scans.
ONLY hotmail.com is the problem.
Access to hotmail is an intermittant issue so the extra contacts must somehow be able to be deleted.
Please advise
