Hello,

How do I connect to Outlook.com using Exchange Actice Synch (EAS) from Outlook 2011 for Mac?

I have atempted to do so using these instructions from: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/outlook/send-receive-from-app

Apps that support Exchange ActiveSync

With EAS you can get your email immediately, as well as see all your folders, calendar and contacts in one place. If your email app supports Exchange ActiveSync and you need to configure it manually, use the following settings.

  • Server address: s.outlook.com

  • Domain: <leave empty>

  • User name: Your email address

  • Password: Your password

  • TLS/SSL encryption required: Yes

Thank you

Bob Oxford

Hi everybody,

I'm a Mac user with Outlook 14.3.9.
As far as i know Outlook for Mac does nut support EAS, is that so?
Is there any release to update Outlook with EAS integration?

Hello

About 2000 sent emails in my outlook.com sent folder disappeared, Only the sent items none of the inbox. Very strange.
I receive email in my computer with outlook 2013 and use EAS. I have a backup of the OST file and with third party applications I can see the emails that disapeared but have to pay to recover them. I can see that many people have the same issue , must be something with outlook.com. I looked at the deleted files , nothing. so they are not there. Anyone knows how to recover them?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

I am using LG Nexus 4 with Android 4.3 (stock ROM) and am syncing my email (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) using EAS. The email syncing is working just fine. However I am unable to sync all my contacts on the phone. I have got about a 1000 contacts online but EAS does not show/sync more than 33 contacts on my phone. Please resolve and advise.

Thanks

Hi There,

I manage my personal email and calendar using Windows Live Mail and Outlook.com. These two sync with each other automatically. In the past, I have also used the interface to access other emails, having different accounts easily viewable and usable as required.

I have recently started studying at an educational institution, that has given us Office365 web service accounts. There are also calendars available etc. I have added the institution's calendars to my Outlook.com/Live Mail without any issues at all, using ICS. I would also like to add my Office365 educational email account as a Send/Receive account in my Outlook.com/Live Mail.

I used the Office365 function that gives you a pop up dialogue with the POP3 settings, but when I use these settings in the Advanced section of the "Add a Send/Receive Account" portion of the Outlook.com interface, I get messages that tell me that they cannot connect with the service or that the user name and password may be wrong.

I also asked my institution's IT department and they gave me the same server names but somewhat different Port/SSL settings. These also did not work. They have checked that their POP3 services are working for others though. I also tried using full and partial email addresses as login names etc and played with some of the SSL and port settings, without success.

The IT department suggested strongly that I should use EAS or IMAP to set up the account, but as far as I know, this is not an option in Outlook.com. If somebody can tell me how to do this, that would be very helpful.

I did consider moving my personal services over to the Office365 environment, but had various issues there:

1) When I tried to add my personal outlook.com account in the "Connected Accounts" page, it said that it couldn't connect, although I double checked that I had enabled POP access on my Outlook.com account. I also tried using the main email address and alias addresses without success.

2) When I imported my personal Outlook.com calendar into Office365 as an ICS, all of the times were shifted by 1 hour (although they appear fine in Outlook.com and Live Mail), which makes the integration as good as useless really.

It seems to me, that it should really be very straight-forward to integrate these two services from Microsoft. As far as I know, the stimulus for Microsoft to create Outlook.com and Office365.com was that Google removed support for EAS and for Calendar syncing... but I am now having problems because Outlook.com doesn't seem to offer the option of adding an account using EAS, Office365 refuses to find the Outlook.com email account and the calendars that I try to share across the two services will not share accurately.

Any help that people can give will be gratefully received.

I'm having a problem accessing Outlook.com from a browser (Chrome, IE, Firefox) on multiple computers. EAS is still working fine (My Windows Phone and Outlook 2013 are working as expected). However, every time I try to access Outlook.com from a browser, I get the error: "Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Outlook right now".

I started getting the error last night, after I was in my inbox and it said something about being unable to connect and to refresh the page and check server status. When I refreshed, the error started.

I was trying out Unroll.me and OtherInbox this past week, so I disabled those, thinking it would help. I removed all accounts linked to my Microsoft account as well as 2-step verification. I don't know what else to do.

Thanks for your help.
Hi,

I am trying to reorganize my emailing and ran into a couple of issues here...

I have several business and private email accounts. Up until now I used POP to download them to Outlook 2013. I decided to make use of EAS features, so have one EAS account handling all email accounts, calendar, etc.

I can add respective smtp servers to the respective accounts, so now I can send emails from outlook.com with the correct sender in the header. However I mostly use Outlook 2013. Syncronization of emails (also sent items, spam, etc.), calendar, tasks works fine. But when sending an email from Outlook 2013 I can choose the sender (I have only one account, the EAS account set in Outlook) account and the sender email, but the recipient sees in the header this hotmail_**********@live.com sending on behalf of ********@******.com thing. Any solutions to this?

Rgds,

Zoltan
I have been using EAS for my hotmail with no problem for more than a year.  Now my contacts do not synch up, my e-mail is still synching. So, as some have suggested when I deleted the account all my hotmail contacts disappeared from the phone.  When I readded the account some of them came back but not all.  I also changed my domain to bay-m.mobile.com.  It didn't help either.  I am using galaxy s3 with android version 4.1.2.  Please help.  Thanks,
