Missing Attachments

Hi There.

I have been having an issue recently when sending out emails containing invoices (.pdf attachments) to our clients. They all use WIndows Live Mail as their default email client and have various accounts, although most are with BT Internet.

The issue we they have been having is that for some unknown reason, when we send out an email containing their invoice, it arrives in their inbox in Windows Live Mail without the attachment included. Yet, if they log into their same account via BT webmail - the attachment is there!

The email is sent out via outlook and most clients report no problems receiving the emails or attachments - except those using Windows Live Mail.

This has ben an on-going issue for sometime now and we really do need a solution.

How can I directly use Gmail instead of the default email client if I click an email link on a web page?

When I click an email link on a web page, I want to use GMAIL. All the directions I can find deal with integrating MS Mail so it remains the default email program but integrates GMAIL. I want to call up GMAIL directly

Will the WLM icon in the system tray change in any way when I get an email? I have gotten a couple of emails already (downloaded into the email client itself), but haven't seen the system tray icon get bigger or turn a bolder color when those emails are downloaded

I cannot understand how to make add a new email account ?

Hi I cannot seem to work out if microsoft now allow free email accounts to be added to existing ones. I don't want an alias I just want a new account that it ?
I can't figure out a way to do this ? Does anyone understand this ? And can you help ? I've spent an hour and have given up short of hacking the program to do it. Not really of course. Is it just an email client now and they no longer give a way to add new accounts to existing ones ? I have read loads on Google and still am baffled and can find nothing from microsoft themselves ?

Emails appearing in folder twice

I have an external email client which I've pointed my outlook to pick up emails from. I initially set it up so that all the emails that are being sent to that email, be sent straight to a new folder which I've created specifically for it. However due to errors, I had to re set it up and, again set it so that the email was being sent to that new folder. But now, because of that, every time I get an email to that folder, it comes in twice.

I've checked the "make rules" option and currently it says there are no rules. How can I make the double emails stop. Is there a specific folder option that I can look at?

Am running Win8.1 and have an email address in outlook. Clicking on the email icon in internet explorer (11) brings up an error message that says the default email client is not properly installed. What now?

Old emails displaying incorrectly

After recently switching to IMAP settings on my Outlook account, I have noticed there is a number of old emails in my Sent folder which aren't displaying correctly, both on Outlook.com and from my email client. I've searched the Outlook Community forums and found another user who has experienced the same issue in the past, but there was no solution provided publicly.

When I view the emails on Outlook.com I am able to see the message and contact fields as well as the date the emails were sent. However, the message headers seem to be missing from the folder view message list. I have provided a screenshot below:

However, the same emails are completely blank when viewed from my email client and I am unable to see the message or the contact fields. The date and time fields have been changed to the current date & time of the IMAP account's creation on my email client.

To save some time in finding the solution, the problem occurs on numerous computers/clients and the internet history and cache are clear. This problem appears to be occurring server side and is not an issue with downloading the emails locally. I would be grateful if this support ticket could be escalated to a support specialist as per the other user who experienced this same issue previously.

How do I gain access to the contacts in my Outlook.com account from Thunderbird? Can it be defined as an LDAP directory or synchronized with the personal or collected addresses?

Control over verification of accounts for a private domain?

Hi,

I am the admin/owner of a private domain and I've started using Outlook.com as our email client for running a non-profit event. Now some of our email accounts need to be accessed by multiple users and I've noticed that a lot of the accounts are looking for verification. Will this affect other users logging onto the account once someones phone number has been used? Also once verified it doesn't seem to unlock features straight away. How long does it take to verify the account?

Is there any option to give more control of this to myself, the administrator of the domain or disable it?

Converting .msg files

I have been given a disk with hundreds of important e-mail messages all in .msg format which won't open on my iMac even though I have Office 2011 installed and use Outlook as my email client.

I downloaded the trial version of Outlook MSG Viewer which I had seen recommended by many people and intended to buy it if successful. However it could not open the files, claiming they were read-only. Now I can't uninstall this program or get the icon out of the Dock!

There must be a simple way to convert these files; I really need a program that will convert them all en masse.

Any suggestions?
