I am running Windows 8.1 and have downloaded Windows Live Mail as my email program.  I receive messages to my inbox, but shortly thereafter they disappear and a message appears which says there is nothing to view as it may be hidden.  I have checked my View settings versus other email accounts I have (where the emails are not being deleted) and even in this account my Sent emails are not being deleted, only my Inbox and my Deleted items.  This is an IMAP account.  I have also gone to the internet and accessed my email account via their webmail and there is nothing in my Inbox.  I have been on the phone several times with my email provider and they basically say it's because it's an IMAP account rather than a POP, but that doesn't make sense to me because my sent messages aren't disappearing and this isn't happening in my other email account.  Please help.

I bought a new Gateway Laptop with Win 8 installed in May 2013.  Shortly thereafter, I updated to Win 8.1.  I didn't like the Mail program provided. (Outlook)

I installed Windows Essentials after I updated to 8.1, several times and uninstalled it/re-installed it, because the email program wasn't working.

2 days ago I re-installed Windows Live Mail.  It worked fine for the first day, a little worse the second day and today, the third day, it is totally inconsistent.  I keep receiving pop-ups with messages:  Cannot connect to server, Failure because of memory problems,  Cannot receive/send email because of server problems, memory problems, etc., etc.  The pop-ups keep flashing on the screen so fast I can't even click ok to get out of the program.

Is there an update to Windows Live Mail 2012 that can solve my problem?  I have run diagnostics on my computer, there are no memory problems, just problems with Windows Live Mail 2012.

I would like to use it, but I'm really thinking of moving to Thunderbird.  I need a stable and consistent Email program without installing and re-installing and re configuring every 2 days.

Looking for suggestions.

Thank you very much.

New laptop with W8.1 -- loaded Live Mail 2012 to be my email program.  Working OK, but when I try to print an email, the right margin is chopping off part of each line, and it won't print all of the lines.  Same if I try to print to OneNote or XPS Document Writer.  I have tried changing the page setup in IE, but problem persists.
Hello, I have no desire or see the reason to have the same incoming email messages going to separate websites.  I have been using hotmail, now know as outlook for 9 years and it's what works best for my needs. My question is how to completely remove "windows Live Mail" which by the way I hate everything about it from the page layout to trying a simple function like deleting messages. I tried closing  "win live mail" account, but when i attempted to use  " mail-to " i received an error message that their was no mail program associated with this account. In the past I was always redirected to my hotmail account. There is no option for hotmail/outlook in "choose your default programs." (I put a check next to use my current email program). I am surprised I don't have a concussion from hitting my head against the wall.  i have a Gateway laptop with win 7 64 bit premium and google chrome as my default browser. I have wasted more hours than i hate to admit searching the web. fo a solution, or it's goodbye microsoft and hello gmail. Thank you in advance for you wisdom.
When I open my Windows Live email the whole screen turns an odd color, the normal menu of standard items disappear in the tool bar, each message is highlighted a pea green color and reading who sent the message is extremely hard to read.  Then when I close the email program and it returns to the desktop which in turn is a completely different color fuzzy look and nothing resembles the original desktop, after 30 seconds or so it changes back to the original background.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  BTW, this computer has Windows7.

When I click an email link on a web page, I want to use GMAIL.  All the directions I can find deal with integrating MS Mail so it remains the default email program but integrates GMAIL.  I want to call up GMAIL directly

Outlook 2010 is set as my default email program, however, it does not automatically open when I right mouse click on a picture or email address and use the Send To / Mail recipient command.
I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and lost the contact list for Windows Live (email program).  In trying to find the Contact list I searched for extension CSV and the search said no program found, BUT I had the old email list saved as a CSV on the hard drive.  What happened?

Hi looking for some advice – I am finding problems sending emails with attachments. As soon as I add an attachment to my email the email program in outlook is closed by Internet Explorer and I lose the email.  This has only just started when there was a change from hotmail to outlook.  Thanks macsues
