Windows Live Mail FAQ
I use msn.com email. I get a message saying "there's a problem sending emails from my account. Check with email provider"
I am new to windows 8 and have set up my windows live mail. My email provider is godaddy and I set up my account according to their settings. I can receive mail, but can't send. Here is the error message I receive:
The connection to the server has failed.
Subject 'test'
Server: 'smtpout.secureserver.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10060
I have tried port 25, 80, 3535 and 587. None worked.
Please help!
Hi,
Excuse me in advance for any ignorance due to never posting a question on a forum before.
In December of last year I changed email provider which has caused me pain ever since. With hindsight, I should have gone down the Gmail route. I have set up my laptop and 2 x PC's with Windows Live Mail which I find to be a very good platform. They are IMAP accounts, which I believe is what my last addresses were. My issue is transferring messages by dragging and dropping. The message is not open in another window when I attempt to move it. While predominantly they move successfully, I find that there are a few stubborn messages (especially messages with attachments) that do not want to move and are starting to drive me to distraction.
I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it to see if this remedies the situation, but to no avail. My email provider claims this is a Microsoft fault. I would have chuckled if my patience had not have been stretched by clueless fools who could not grasp the concept of empathy in an area where they should now be very capable. My apologies if I have this completely wrong.
Any suggestions will be greatly received and many thanks in advance.
In my case, I'm not as surefooted yet with Windows Live Mail as I am with the bells and whistles familiar to me in the web-based email site. If I randomly use the familiar site after having installed that identity to my Windows Live Mail app, do I create problems for myself? Or is it perfectly okay?
I'm having problems with my e-mail. I went into my e-mail, then account, then properties, then server and changed my password. Ever since then the only way I can get my e-mail is through road runner. I can send find, just not receive. Whenever I go into my e-mail icon and error message pops up, Windows Live Mail couldn't log on to the email server using authenticated POP (APOP). Contact your email provider and verify that it supports authenticated POP. Error ID: 0x80004005 and than I got ox800CCC90 . All I changed was password. I never had any other place that I put a password into. Bright House was not help. I keep getting the run around. Please help !
