I keep getting this error message

Unable to open “Hotmail”
The connection to the server “imap.glbdns2.microsoft.com” on port 993 timed out.

I know all the settings and passwords are entered correctly because the "connection doctor" feature shows that both IMAP and SMTP connections are successful.

I can also see the mails in all my folders on my hotmail account EXCEPT inbox. So sent folder, junk mail, trash, misc. folders all show the correct emails, just the inbox is blank

Every time I try to start SkyDrive in windows 8.1 it does this: It creates a new SkyDrive folder. No files are ever synced with the cloude store.

  • Q: Can you confirm if the SkyDrive Sync Engine continues to run and doesn’t continue to crash?  Go to Task Manager and ensure "Sky Drive Sync Engine Host" process is running.

    A: No

  • Q: Can you confirm if the SkyDrive app is giving an error message? To check it, just launch the SkyDrive app and look for errors at the top right corner of the screen.  Top right corner error is a link that opens the “Progress” view page.

    A: No error message. Only the message: There are no files or folders in this view.

  • Q: Have you tried uploading some files via web SkyDrive? Are they synching down to your computer?

    A: Nothing is downloaded to computer

  • Q: Any SkyDrive icon in Windows system tray you can  Right click on to choose Settings?

    A: No


  • Q: Confirm that the SkyDrive Sync Engine continues to run and doesn’t continue to crash. Go to Task Manager, ensure "Sky Drive Sync Engine Host" process is running.

    A: I do not have the sky drive sync engine host process running and I also have been unable to sync Skydrive. Is there a way to fix this?

     

  • Q: When viewing through the SkyDrive Desktop (File explorer view): Click on the SkyDrive node and look for any icons that indicate errors (i.e., yellow triage, red x). If there’s an error icon, look for the error at the bottom of the file explorer window, or right click on the SkyDrive, and then select View error which opens the modern SkyDrive app "Progress" view page.

    A: I can’t se any icons at all. Directory is empty

     

  • Q: can you please confirm what is your operating system?

    A: Windwos Pro 8.1


  • Q: Can you provide the *.etl logfile in %localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\SkyDrive\logs ??? to figure out what is wrong?

I am getting error code 18493 as a result of a large file I was trying to send.  I know the reason for the code, but having a hard time trying to permanently delete the error message.  I deleted the email from drafts, placed outlook "offline" as stated in other discussions, but the email keeps on trying to sync with exchange and I continue to get this error message.  Please help me to get rid of this error notification .. thank you
Apparently we are having an issue with the Outlook Calendar.  Every time we click on the Calendar function it seems to be attempting to log in or something and then returns an error message stating that it was having a problem and could not access the Calendar and to try again later.  Have been attempting to access the Calendar all day - approximately 12 hours now and still get the same error message.  Under support it only indicates that the Calendar function was or would be down for maintenance on 23 Oct 2013, but since it is 25 Oct - not sure what is occurring.  All other functions Mail, People, SkyDrive seem to be working normally.  Any one else experiencing this issue or does anyone know if the issue is being addressed.

I have always been able to view my email account on my nokia 300 phone until recently and every time i make an attept it lets me log in then gives me the error message could not display mailbox. Try again - this has been hapening for a couple of weeks now and even when i use the pc to access my account i am having various difficulties opening the folders. i have reset the password and attempted to ensure phone is linked to the account but am not getting anywhere on either pc or phone can anyone help as mail is building up and i can't do anything about it.  Seriously frustrated now !!!!!!!

I've had problems with my Office's excel files, actually right after the 8.1 update.

Simply told, when I want to update my excel files with my Windows phone, I get this error message that the file can't be saved on Skydrive, and the given advice on fixing the problem doesn't work. When I try to open the file from Skydrive (Web app and computers own Excel) it gives me error message  telling that the file is corrupted or the way the file is saved is not supported.

Deleting the file from Drive and saving again with Windows phone doesn't work. Saving new files doesn't work either. Is it a bug, or is there a way I can save my files?

I sent an e-mail and now I can an error Message:  Server Error 550, Server Response:  550 Invalid mailbox. (RD 109006)  I keep getting
a message to resend.  How can I delete this message?  It is not in my sent box.  Help!

I am using SkyDrive Android Application.

Error Message : "The file couldn't be opened: Sorry, There are no apps installed that can open this type of file."


Steps :
1. I created a OneNote on outlook.com (Via Browser on My PC)

2. I installed OneNote App in Android Mobile

3. I installed SkyDrive Android App

4. Tried to open Onenote I created in step 1

5. I am getting Error Message "The file couldn't be opened: Sorry, There are no apps installed that can open this type of file."

What To Do ?


New problem started today, whenever I try to create a new email in Outlook and insert an attachment, I get an error message stating "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and I'm kicked out.  I have logged off/on, restarted computer, no luck.  All other Outlook functions are working fine.  Help please!

My primary live.com account was hacked and when attempting to reset my password, I had a reset password link sent to my secondary email account. When I utilize the link I get an error message that this service is currently down, please try again later. I have seen several with this problem and have not seen a resolution. I have tried for two days and used three different browsers. It is IMPERATIVE that I be able to use this account, so prompt resolution would be greatly appreciated.
